AUGUST BURNS RED - MUSIC VIDEO (HVX + Mini35)

nice filming man. i had to mute the music though. loved watching the visuals.

question for you: did you record the guy in the beginning that's being chased from the car at 60fps and then ramp up the speed in AE or FCP or are those just different takes recorded in slow mo and regular speed?

shot it in 60fps and just did a speed ramp in final cut

Wow, nice footage! Well done. I bet that guys throat gets sore, don't tell his old voice coach he sings like that.

done so well, I love august burns red and everything was so professionally executed. hopefully more and more metal bands come huntin you guys down. keep posting!!

As stated earlier, I thought the daytime stuff was a little flat, but it seems that's the way it was conceptualized. Great use of colors and depth with the fog machine during the night scenes. Also, great utilization of a small amount of gear. Congrats on a great video overall.

BTW- Is it just certain scenes, or is there a slight vignette applied to the whole video?

If anything should feel flat it should be the nighttime stuff because we didnt use the mini35 on that at all. thanks though

We added a slight vignette to everything, some is more apparent than others though

we actually had a lot of equipment - 3 ton grip truck, generator truck and a ton of lights - but using the 10k and the maxi brute helped us reduce what we needed to use.

So the opening shot was sky replacement. Was it shot during daylight and colored for night? and the car headlights added in post? Loved the look of this shot.

The opening shot was shot during 'magic hour' - right when the sun was almost down. The headlights were already on the car, we just boosted them a little to make them brighter.
