Hey guys, I finally got my HVX package from B&H:

This kit came with (assumedly):

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/391161-REG/Marshall_V_R70P_HDAA_V_R70P_HDA_7_LCD_Monitor.html

What I want to do is mount this monitor to my camera so I have an accurate reference when I'm shooting. I had understood the order to mean that it would come with everything I needed to mount this on my HVX200.

Of course, I don't have what I need. I got the HD Monitor and AC cables. I also have the tiny mounting plate already attached to the bottom of the monitor. I did not get an adaptor or anything to put the monitor onto the Hot Shoe or any other part of the camera. Also, the monitor has a V-type battery mount on the back. Of course, I don't have any batteries for that type of connection as all I have are the Extended Duration batteries for the HVX.

The monitor's box also included some kind of battery adaptor labeled 'NEBTEK LIBCP'. I don't have any documentation on it, and it uses a DC plug, which I can't find a connection for on the Marshal Monitor.

Everything else in the kit has worked out great for me, except for these two issues (and the fact that Panasonic won't accept my rebate because my serial number has 'already' been used for a rebate...). I'm a bit fried from going through all of my stuff, so can somebody please help me out with getting this monitor mounted on my camera and the battery system working? Any links to accessories that I need to get, or tips on getting this battery adaptor to work would be greatly appreciated!

And yes, I did search these forums but I didn't come up with anything helpful. In fact, I got quite a bit more confused. Thanks guys.

OK I can answer one question as I use a Marshall on a HVX200.

Personally don't rry and mount the monitor on the hotshoe. Some may do it but the monitor is not light and needs a better mount.

I use the Zacuto baseplate and attach the marshall with a Noga arm which goes on the 15 mm rods.

Hope that helps a bit.

That zacuto rig looks pretty nifty! Is there enough length on those rods for a mattebox on the front? Also, can I power the camera, the monitor, and a FS-100 from that battery mount? Looks like it could be a great investment...

I got this issue with my rebate. I was off by a number or letter.

I copied my number exactly, and tried replacing the 0's with O's to no avail.

My biggest problem right now is with the Monitor and the Nebtek battery adaptor (if thats what it actually is). Is anybody here familiar with nebtek? Does anybody know how I am supposed to use this thing?

The zacuto 15mm rods are threaded and can be any length you want. They do different lengths and I attach two together and have plenty of room for a matte box. You can use the red base plate to attach a antone poer plate for batteries which can poer the camera and the Marshall very easily.

The quality of Zacuto's gear is top notch.Doubt you would find a better setup. But it does come at a cost.

Yeah I'm looking at the Zacuto as a longer term goal, along with a 35 adaptor haha. For now I just need to get a cheap way to mount my monitor on the camera and preferrably battery powered as well. I'm still clueless as to the purpose of this nebtek contraption they sent with the monitor... I wish somebody could shed some light on this for me.

Isn't it so you can use Panasonic or sony batteries to power the Marshall?

Yeah that's what I think, but I can't find any way to mount it with the Marshall, or even plug it in. Does the Marshall have a DC plug somewhere that I haven't looked yet?

I'd call B&H and tell them your problem.
Nebtek makes battery mounts that replace the IDX connetion on the back of the Marshall with one that allows use of the Panny batteries.
Some Marshall monitors have the DC input on the monitor that would work with the adapter they sent you, it looks like your monitor doesnt have this DC-in plug.
Perhaps B&H make a mistake.
B&H are very good with their customer service, so if you call them I'm sure they will straighten it out.
