FREE upgade to "A" Version It's official

Mine's been in since last Friday. I happened to send it in asking for a calibration check and any upgrades. No change in status since delivered Friday morning. Dang...

Really, though, sometimes the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. I called the service center number and it sent me to some guy back east. He didn't know anything about an upgrade and didn't even know what the HD100 was. He gave me the stock answer that he said he'd been told to give on service repairs and that is that it can take two to three weeks. I choked, but I'm still hoping it'll be back this week.

Warren that shouldn't be. I just found out they just started looking at mine two hours ago. It been there for three days. Someone from JVC that comes here needs to step up to the plate and check on your situation though.

If you don't hear from JVC by early morning, please PM or email me and I will make a call for you to Mr. Rosenberg or Mr. Freed at JVC. Ok!

According to USPS my camera arrived at cyprus CA at 2.30 this afternoon, now I am wondering how to track the progress , typing in my phone number and zip code gives me excuse the pun but zip, so I am wondering how one goes about getting a Receipt Number.

Once your camera is in the system, when you put in your zip and phone nubmber, it will pull up the receipt number on it.

Thanks carcaridon, I guess it is not in the system yet ! even though it has been there since 2.30 pm !

Ok.
Here's an odd one. When I got my camera back it had an SD card in it. Thinking I forgot and left mine in it, I thought nothing when I picked it up. But upon returning home, I saw mine sitting on my editing desk. I'm assuming this is the card that JVC uses to flash the firmware. There's no way I'm driving all the way back to Cypress. Any JVC reps want to contact me and make arrangements for its return?

Carcaridon- That was no accident. JVC Cypress is overloaded and they've decided to make you an official JVC Upgrade Center. They will beging shipping units to you for upgrade immediately!!!

Right on. No idea what I'm doing, but heck. I'll give it a shot. :)

Whats to worry about? A pair if vice-drips and a hammer. Go ahead. Give it a try!!!!!!!!!!OK Just kidding. We sent 2 of ours over to Cypress yesterday and the other three will go over when those get back. Should be Monday I hear.

That's what I hear from corporate in New Jersey. I'll know Monday because they have two of ours and they're supposed to be ready for pick-up on Monday...72-hours. I'll let you know.

That's awesome for you Jonathan. Sounds like you'll get them all this next week. For some reason I seem to be stuck in a vortex. They've had mine for 10 days now (counting today Sunday). Monday will be day 11. I don't understand what's happening when others seem to be getting theirs in 72 hours. I had asked for them to check calibration on the split screen but I can't see how that would add this much time.

Warren

Actually, the split screen issue takes an inordinate amount of time; we're talking hours instead of the minutes. Typically, a unit will be "one the bench" for 60 minutes; 30 for diagnosis and 30 for upgrade. I don't know the mechanics of it but New Jersey tells me that's about the time required. HOWEVER, when you add SSE re-calibration, and again I don't know the mathematics, it can take literally hours of bench time. These guys have no need to lie to me as none of ours have evidenced this phenomenon however a good friend of mine did have an SSE problem with his and asked me to make a call. I did and the result is what I've reported.

I believe these guys when they say they've righted the battleship and are putting Customer Service as a priority so I'd say just hang in there. They have more to lose by delaying repaiers than you can imagine in this thing. PM me your repair ticket number.

I haven't worked out how to get a repair ticket number. All I can provide is my phone number and zip code and that doesn't produce anything for me on the site. I sent them everything they asked - camera, serial number, address, number, e-mail address - all of which they should have received by Thursday at the latest. I keep getting "no results were found at this time". I'm not panicked, just wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Thanks.

Just give them a call. They've always been very nice on the phone and very helpful.

getting worried

getting worried

Has anyone here got back their HD100 [A] s yet from CA. ? If so how long did it take ?
I am getting a little worried , I sent mine 22rd it got to JVC in CA 23rd, according to UPS, it was logged in as "received "24th by JVC, every time I check it still says "received ". I spoke to someone at the service number , who was in fact in Texas, he said maybe they would get to it by the end if the week !!!!! End of the WEEK, that is some 72 hours they have got going , Like everyone it seems here , I have jobs booked in, Sat 2nd , the 5th and my own shoot on the 7th .
I do not want to sound negative here , but I spent like $90 so for on Mail + insurance.
And now I ma going to loose more , because of an actual design flaw in my new $ 5300.00 camera.
Sorry , anyway if anybody has got their cameras back could you let me know
thanks
