is this tripod good for dvx100b? manfrotto 055c with manfrotto 501 head

I may purchase a dvx100b package that has that tripod set up. I couldn't really find a price list on the net for this... I think this tripod is from 2001 and not much info but seems like the 055c is a photography camera tripod. Anyone have any info on this if this would be good for video shoots?

I use it, its a good tripod combo, but I use the 501HDV head - the newer model and have no problems. Of course, you get what you pay for...and if you want smoother pans and tilts, go for the 503 or up.

I have a 501 head and I hate it. It really requires a lot of dilligence while shooting to get smooth shots. I'm used to the heads we had when I worked in news, which were true fluid heads. The 501 is a fluid/friction head. I think there is a 519 that is a true fluid and fits on 75mm ball sticks. I'm thinking of switching when I win the lottery. Anyone have the 519 and can provide feedback?
