Festival Entry - 4:3 Letterbox or Uprez to 16:9?

We have a short that we shot in 24P 4:3 Letterbox with the DVX100A that we will be submitting to some film festivals. Any suggestions on whether it is better to submit it "as is" or should we convert it to 16:9 before submission (with the potential loss of resolution)? Do festival judges worry about those types of things if the content is good? Any thoughts would be helpful.

Will they be viewing it on a SD or HD TV? You can only guess. Probably SD, as they pass the screeners around, so 4:3 is a safe bet, and you won't lose any quality.

I've seen shorts in both widescreen and 4:3, so I don't think it matters. And I've seen plenty of SD shorts as well. They usually look just fine.
