Hey guys

I thought I'd share here my first music video (I'm always asking for advice on weird technical things or software issues I have). Most people are more aware of the photographs on my site

Basically the video (made for around $600 including equipment rentals. <I do not own an HVX.) got picked up by Much Music, which is like the Canadian equivalent of MTV in the USA. The only place the video is allowed to be on the web is there site for 2 weeks, and I think a lot of Americans are having trouble seeing it but that should disapear in a few days. (Not sure why/how they don't allow this.) We based the video on a photoshoot I did for the band

I'll update this post to a higher def one on my website when I'm allowed (as well without that weird interlacing thing they put on my precious precious 24P footage)

Anywho, here is a link, any feedback would be appreciated!

can't see it. Says it's for Canada users only (weirdest thing I've ever heard). Went to your website though, great photography. Any chance you could throw up a link to a hi res version for an hour or so?

Ah, yeah weirdest thing I ever heard too, but it should be available in a few days. I thought just some users might not be able to see it but I guess not...

I´m in Europe, can´t see it eather...
If just SOMEONE could´t put it up on Youtube...
Why are videos restricted anyhow?
Their purpose is to sell a band, it´s like an advertising!
But in times of dropping income for labels, maybe selling exclusive rights for showing the vid is a new way of making profit...?
Anyhow, the band and YOU should be interested in the video to be shown the most possible ways...
Ahh I bet you just want to create a Blair Witch hype around the video :cheesy:

They are zone restricted because the world is divided up into licensing zones. THe internet blew that away but movie, television, and music still keep their dumb zones. It's all about making $ for the labels too, not providing more for the fans.

muchmusic does not make money inde bands. and yes it does have to do with release dates, and the CRTC

Just to let you know muchmusic doesn't like to play DV videos or DV looking videos only if there is a demand for the band or artist or if they are on a major.

Good stuff Joey, is this the same stuff I saw quite a while back? Anyway, shoot me a PM or something. Let's talk soon.

Yay! being in the right country for once. This is the first time it has been a good thing to be in canada for watching stuff online. No more "Can't view from your state / viewing area." hahaha. Neat video, I would like to see a better quality one for sure without the interlacing. If you don't mind me asking what were the lights you used? Those were lightings on the side walls right? not windows? cool!

Sorry! You're Not In Canada Some of our content is restricted to users in Canada only. Blame the lawyers!!! Please browse around though - we have much more you can see.

...
Let's blame Canada... isn't that a musical? Let us know when it's available for the rest of the world.

Damn Joey you've got that Dragan style poppin beautifully! Those photos are sick. Hmm if you're doing the same type of thing in AE...i've got to see this friggin video.

Hey Joey,
Was checking out your site. Lots of great and even some amazing stuff! Do you mind if I ask you what you shoot with and what kind of post processing you do to get the hardness in the images?

These cheap-ass things we rented from vistek. I had to blast the light as close as possible because I couldn't get the shutter speeds I wanted (but some of light lost of course because of the adapter.) The lights on the side of the walls are flourescent. That's a car spray booth!

I use a Canon 5D and of course Photoshop CS2
