DVX100b with FCS2 Color (color correction test)

This is my test of a color grading with Final Cut Studio 2's built-in "Color" application which was bought by Apple and now integrated into the suite. No third party plug-ins are used here. Color is pretty easy to use and have a similar feel of Apple's now defunct Shake.

Here's the clip http://youtube.com/watch?v=DtSmYFP5m_w

The clip is pretty short and I decided to put it on Youtube instead of putting a link to the actual file. The DVX100b was set to progressive (of course !) with Cine gamma and shot on squeeze mode. Everthing else was post production with Color.

I'm trying to compare them to Magic Bullet. Tell me what you all think. Cheers !!

Well I hardly think shake is defunct.

But as you say if youre using the node function in color it is very similar.

From what I gather youre settings are pretty much based on the presets. Magic Bullet sadly is a pile of dung compared to color which is a true cc/grading tool and when used to it's limit is rather complex in nature.

You are right !, node based interface was what I meant to say. I did use the ready made preset with some primary In and Out tweak. It's hardly straight forward to use (I need to learn how to use it properly to get the most out of it).

Thanks for your comment.
