Why 720p seq in FCP must be rendered??

Hello,
FCP isn't yet able to use 720p footage.
So do you think that it's worth to export it to 1080i via quicktime then edit it in a 1080i sequence?
Thanks

i work in fcp in 720p all the time with no need to render...

the only reason that you should have to render source footage in fcp is if your sequence settings dont exactly match that of your footage. look closer, im sure there is something in the sequence preferences set wrong.

That's incorrect. I work with 720p exclusively and don't render unless I add effects. Get your settings right. Here is a trick so you always get the settings right:

1. Import your clips
2. select a clip
3. In the Modify Menu, select Create MultiClip Sequence
4. The sequence created now has the exact settings as the clip you selected.
5. Open the multiclip sequence and use that to start adding your other clips.

The only reason that you need to render in FCP is an inconsistency between clip and sequence settings.

The multiclip doesnt work here.
The PAL version of FCP is not working properly, because no easy setup work either.

Ok found a workaround (or a workflow)
Open all 720p clips (even those shoot at 25fps) with Cinema Tools.
conform all to 25.
No render needed!
