I shot this on a DVX. I was wondering if anyone would like to take a look at my short film about finding the blues in the suburbs. It is about 20 minutes long and I'd appreciate any feedback. I trust many of the opinions on this board and am curious to hear what you guys think of both the movie itself and the cinematography. http://www.veoh.com/videos/v1018562jNSdDJRq

I thought that visually, it was very good. That goes for the story concept as well. But... There's always a but, isn't there? But, the first interview scene where he spits in the interviewer's face, that just made this guy a dick. Same thing at the party, where he strolls into somebody elses' place, throws his music into the boom box, and then tells the other people they are @$$holes? Somebody needs to teach this boy the fundamentals of Blues... as in Black and Blues.

The car drive to the party, the cuts were very noticeable, and very distracting. The audition just didn't work for me, he wants to be a Blues singer, yet he just lipsyncs to a record and waves the guitar around? You also had a lot of footage that cut in to that scene, which really didn't tell this story at all, not to mention aren't legally used.

The imagery was good dude, and there was a solid story in there somewhere.

Like I said, there is a solid story in there somewhere. It could go in several different directions, but you have a good look to it. Where did you shoot it?

Shoot some more!

Shoot some more!

Is this your first attempt? You have a natural way with the camera- good story telling! Good cinematography!

Nice, but why interlaced video and not 24p? Somewhat distracting from an otherwise excellent production.
