Trouble Converting 60fps to Slow Motion in a 24fps Timeline

I recently shot footage at 1280x720p at 60fps to a P2 card. I then imported the footage to achieve slow motion, but I can't seem to get it right. I also tried the Panasonic Frame Rate Converter but also received no results.

I'm working in Final Cut 5.0.4 in a 24fps timeline. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

I am aware that the footage must be converted via browser, I'm even aware of the bug that forces you to drag the footage into a new project etc. I am not sure, though, if the footage was shot native... please clarify what you mean by this.

easy enough. Use cinematools. Convert it there. Open the clip and change the timeframe to 24 and it will turn it slow motion. You may want to duplicate the clip before doing it as well. I've done it a few times... and instantly does it
