editors: are my cuts too quick? (intro to rich people cocking about on a race track)

Actually, they're not just ballin', they're great drivers too. I never realized how fun sound design was until tonight. Looking for a new perspective. Are the cuts too fast? While editing they seemed fine, but watching it afterwards without really focusing on the video made me think some of the shots are so quick they're just a blur.

Thanks

Nope.. they are not too quick at all..
this looks really good! but if your making a movie never overuse this.. an extended period of time with this kind of cutting is just really annoying..

is this done with any adapters?

Nice work. Well done.

Looks good but I wouldn't want too much more - maybe 10-20 seconds - before you settle into your normal cutting pace.

At some point, too much of an effect like that takes the attention off of the program and puts it on the filmmaker. Tony Scott movies are like that all of the time now. ("Domino" has a cool intro like yours, it just never stops and it makes it hard to get invested because you keep saying 'wow, cool editing!')

Having said all of that, you did nice work and your stuff looks great. good luck on your project.

I'll chime in with the same - not too fast at all.
But, like everyone else already said, don't go for too much more of that...
But what's there looks great.
Nice job.

Thanks, for the feedback! I kind of felt I shouldn't overuse it, but your reply and others have reinforced the idea in my head not to do so.

No, it is done with a stock dvx. Thanks

Advantech, can you tell me what effect(s) you used. This looks really cool.

So far, it's all done in Sony Vegas, although I want to use After Effects later for some cooler stuff.

To be honest, nothing there is complicated at all. I'm sure most of you guys can see it's all cheap flashes, horizontal and vertical flips of the image, some sped up shots, fast cuts. Nothing that takes more than a click or two. Watch it without audio, you'll see how stupid it is haha

It's the audio that makes it I think.

Thanks for the feedback.:)

Wow, these images look great. The vignette is really moody and fun. I think the audio plays a good supporting role:)

It's very very very very very nice. Adrenalinic, modern, filmic.
Just a little suggestion and a little critique.
The suggestion: when doing such lightfast montages, try to intercalate fast sequences with single, longer shots: i.e. 2 seconds very fast cuts, 1-2 seconds shot, and so on.
The critique is that i had to stop it in order to read the name "calabogie" (which is not CocaCola, but it's an unknown and complex name) This could be the place to put the 1" shot.

Good idea! I'll try to do it, even though the song used doesn't allow for much more time to lengthen many shots.

Thanks
