meeting internet people in person

Looking for a woman
i've only met one person that i've communicated with online. here is the story...

a couple of years ago i was looking to purchase a treadmill. i went on ebay and found this treadmill that was being sold really cheap. the only stipulation was that i would have to go and pick it up because he didn't want to ship such a large item. he suggested that we should meet at this gas station off the highway before he went to work. i arrived before sunrise, so i'm just sitting around in the dark, and i was beginning to question my decision to meet this guy. fortunately, he gets there about 10 minutes later with the treadmill. we made chit chat for a little while as he helped unload the treadmill onto my pickup. but...

when i tried to pay him, he wouldn't accept my money. he explained to me that he is a believer, this is how he meets people and and it's sort of a ministry for him. i never questioned him about how giving away exercise equipment to strangers was a minstry; i was just happy that Jesus scored me a free treadmill. :engel017:

do you have any stories about meeting people from the internet?

The people i meet from Craigslist when i sell and buy stuff is somewhat interesting. I met a mom and her college age kid the other day selling my iMac, and she was really nice. Motherly to ME even!

She asked if i went to school or worked, or what i did, i explained that im a dvd author, and a software developer in san jose, and she was all proud in a motherly way, i said its an ok gig, wish i had more money and she says "...you have our own apartment! you have a car! and LOOK, you have a HUGE TV!" i lolled, and it was actually a fun chat. Nice lady for sure! her son was soooo embarrased i could tell, but there really is no reason to be embarrassed, should be happy to have a great parent around like that! :P

People i buy from, i am always cautious, but they have always been great, no shady deals, and what not. though some may be quiet. BUt everyone has been just great!

(i guess its because i only buy and sell APPLE stuff huh)

And people i have met from these boards have also been great, i think the like me better, or actually like me after meeting me, i hope HAHAHA!

Interesting story ugafan. Ha.

I haven't met her yet, but I've been sending money to a beautiful woman who lives in Nigeria. She keeps telling me we will meet soon. I have to keep working to send her enough money so she can get over to America and we can get married.

During one summer in Austin, my roommates and I picked up a love seat off craigslist. It was a nice love seat! The guy was only getting rid of it because he got a really trendy set, so there were no blemishes period. He was such a nice guy & I felt awful because we had lied in the email saying my friend's name was Duncan.

I dunno, we weren't that trusting I guess. We had a laugh about it on the way. The fact that I couldn't slip and call him his real name. The funniest part is that "Duncan" was told that he would be getting a free mini fridge too. He was super excited but when we got there the guy said he had given it away to a friend. Sorry. My friend "Duncan" stared at him not understanding what he said. "What? Where's my mini fridge?"

Hahaha. I know, its sort of an asshole thing to expect. A free love seat & mini fridge. But he was so excited about the fridge that he kind of went into shock.... not getting it after all.

Ive met girls off the internet. Nothing exceptional. One really really bad experience.

Ive had the chance every year to travel to europe to meet up with online friends but I can never afford to. Bummer.

Hell, I'd be pissed if I didn't get a mini-fridge I was promised.

I know! But at the time we still had to lug the love seat down three flights of stairs. We actually made that summer "the summer of free couches." We replied to as many ads as we could & got 4 free couches. Our intention was do one of two things:

1. Set the couches up on cinderblocks & make stadium seating.

2. Make a couch maze.

Unfortunately our house was sold to a new landlord and he paid us off so that we'd move out a few months early. Our plans felll through & we donated the spare couches to goodwill.

i was just happy that Jesus scored me a free treadmill.

So, is Jesus going to be happy with how you've used his gift ?

Maybe you could pay it forward - I hear Brandon may be in the market . . . .

Up too late.

I used to post at this other forum a couple of years ago. This girl drunkenly posted her phone number, so like any decent man, I called her. It was quite an amusing conversation. She said I was the only person who had the balls to call her. We became friends, and she even showed up to my annual Halloween Horror Movie Fest that I have at my house, driving from Rancho Cucamonga to my house in Bakersfield. All of my friends continually asked me who the hell she was the whole time.

Did you double check your house for missing items after?

I met several crazy women online back in the day. Then one was crazy enough to marry me. Also, she looked even better in person. Unlike the previous crazy women.

I was chatting with this girl on-line, and we decided to meet in person. I brought her some beer and a new video game. She offered me some sweet tea, then I got to meet Chris Hansen.

Really!? nobody else found this hilarious?

Well... I thought it was...
