Ooh! Ooh! I've got a Heinz entry too! "3250 Miles"

I thought we wern't allowed to link to high res versions?

anyway, this is very pro stuff doug. the v/o works great for this spot.

I thought we wern't allowed to link to high res versions?

Really? Where has it said that? I read the rules pretty closely and see no mention of that.

Glad you guys like it. This isn't the kind of thing I would normally make; it doesn't really have my signature on it. But the idea popped in my head immediately and I felt compelled to see it through. It felt right to the brand for me. I don't know if that's going to be a heavy consideration of the judges; if not I'm sure I have no chance. But, y'know, just one more piece for the ol' reel either way...

Later on I hope to put up some of the "road diaries" (read: crappy cell-phone vids) that we took along the way of our trip. We hit absolutely no snags until the very last day, when we had a massive tire blow-out while already running late to the airport in Boston.

classic... a timeless commercial... i think heinz will appreciate that approach for their product.

Let's hope!

Just got the contract/receipt back from the rental car... turns out we actually drove 3921 miles making this thing - with some detours along the way!

Very nice job, man.

I just have one question... Did you actually find a Heinz truck and shoot that or did you add the Heinz logo to the side of a truck in post?

You didn't know I'm big-rig certified? Drove that thing across 12 states!

Nah, it's all post. Actually, I did more CG work on this piece than almost anything else I've ever done. There just wasn't time to sit around and wait for the perfect shooting conditions/locations, so sometimes they had to be nudged a bit!

To be honest I don't see it getting past the general internet voting... it's not punchy or appealing to the under-30 crowd, really. But here's to hoping! And I certainly appreciate your comments!

Well, looks like I got out-done by someone who decided to travel all around the world (or pretend to, at least) instead of just America. Oh well! Still a fun project to do.

After seeing the kind of stuff they were looking for i really expected your spot to be up there doug.
Still a fantastic spot. you're right about having a good piece for the reel.
