I (finally) got my P2's!

It took 4 months, but I finally got 2 16GB cards.

The guys at AbelCineTech were very cool (and incredibly patient) dealing with Panasonic's lethargic P2 distribution AND my nagging about "when are the P2 cards coming in?"

Anyway, I'm finally up and running, and I couldn't be happier.

Congrats dude, I'm waiting on the 32g to come at Christmas, that's going to be a looong wait.

if they say the 32g are coming at xmas, dosn't that mean they will be available next summer?

That's pretty much what the Panasonic folks at one of the P2 workshops said a few months ago, patssle. Xmas in July (08).

At SMPTE Australia they repeatedly said that the cards were coming in "a few months"; sure sounded like they meant November or even maybe late October. But as we've learned with the 16's, there's a difference between "shipping" and "shipping in quantity"...

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath. I'm seeing about doing a pre-order now.

What is the actual holdup with the cards? Surely any manufacturing issues should have been resolved. The HVX although 'cheap' is still a very big purchase for someone like myself and it's a bit frustrating that the whole P2 REVOLUTION is becoming a whimper. I love the system and I guess just very anxious to get a couple 32gb cards so I can make some money with weddings etc.
