FlipFlop - a small tool to preview live DV video with flip

I am using my DVX100 using firewire. Using shooting 24P.

I saw that you have already corrected the issue? Did I understand this correctly? Is it available for download?

Its not quite ready yet. I still need to apply the fixes to all the presets. Since you are using an SD format, you will certainly get the most out of the app. I'll post here when its up, hopefully tomorrow. Also since I don't have any NTSC equipment, let me know if you have any issues with the NTSC presets.

Great to hear. I will even post screen grabs as to how it looks on FCP, iMovie and yours.

I've done a comparison of the new overlay compared to the FCP overlay and I think its pretty good, but let me know how you get on.

great to hear...let me know when it is available for download.....can't wait to test it this weekend on set...(hopefully!) :)

it seems to me that you nailed it! I will test it some more. The only difference is that I have had a couple of crashes here and there...other than that...it is good!

hey but what happened to the anamorphic option...got to have it. I shoot always anamorphic.

I replaced the separate anamorphic preset with a switch in the SD presets. Look for the '16x9' tick box on the settings bar. This makes for a simpler preset panel and helps to speed up making changes since I have less presets to alter now!

Sorry about the crashing, I'll have a look at it, but can you tell me the following.
What machine are using? (CPU, RAM, Video Card, OS version, Quicktime version)
Are you using beta 2?

Thanks for helping to test this.

Thanks. You have the exact same laptop as me! I haven't been able to reproduce the crash, so if you have it again, can you send me the crash report please. Thanks.

I have been working on another few changes, mostly to the UI, will be posting the update later and will let you know.

P.S. Beta 2 was the second version I sent you. Since its not been released yet, its called beta.

Hey Mark:

I only downloaded version 1.0.8 because at the time I checked my inbox, there was only one email from you. Now I see there is another email from you but the download link does not work

Hi Super,
I've removed the beta now as I've just put the latest version up on the FlipFlop website. I changed the version to v1.1 since the UI changed quite a bit.
I haven't been able to fix the 720p presets yet unfortunately.

Mark,

I love the idea for the app - however, I don't see HDV support. Is this possible with the current version of the app? I'd love to be able to add this to my Indie toolkit, alongside my Canon HV20!

Hi, unfortunately I've not been able to get HDV working yet. I'll keep looking into it, but I realise that's not much use for you. I'll post here if I ever manage to get HDV working.
Thanks, Mark
