Bay is so low rent

I read a blog where Bay uses a mega horn and issues instructions, with uh, the crew person just a few feet away. I dunno, the guy is cute, but come on now.

If you watch the commentary track on The Island, Bay would break at least two megahorn on every movie he worked on. He said he loved the way it sounds when it's broken.

Don't know what the point in constantly haranguing about Michael Bay is. The bottom line is, people pay to see what he makes, to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.

If what he makes isn't to your taste, that's your problem, not his. He has consistently done what he set out to do, and people pass judgment with their pocketbooks.

So, why be the type of person who burdens others with their problems?

Well said, DJ.

Most flaming amounts to nothing more than petty jealousies and insecurities.

hmmmmm.....grand am with busted window....ooorrr....ferraris? What a hard decision....

Yeah I think that many many people here would be more than happy with a "Michael Bay" career.

I had a 90 gt that was just turning into a money pit while I was a poor student. Nothing like dropping 900 bucks on new exhaust only to take it out on a test drive and blow 3rd gear......that was when I had to say enough.

While both of these may be fun movies... I wonder what goes through either MB's or BW's head when they watch something like Saving Private Ryan... I mean if you want to debate action sequences... a lot of time has passed since SPR... or let's go way back and think Terminator 2 (remember the entire chase scene with Arnold riding the bike off of that ledge?)Those were action sequences that you could get your heart and mind into.

If you want to keep in context of the thread... look at even the original die hard... like say when Bruce is fighting the German as the chunky cop is checking out the ground floor... eating a twinkie... then he says "f*ck this" or whatever... and starts to leave as you see the slow-mo gangster come crashing into the car... so you get the ultimate contrast of emotion, from the dorky cop to instant hardcore situation where all the German dudes are shooting at the car while he floors it in reverse screaming for backup... c'mon... I just got goosebumps!

With these movies lately I feel like there's some "spice shaker" that everybody picks up and goes nuts with it over the script... I can't quite identify it, but every time I see it I get that familar feeling again... and a bad aftertaste.

If you watch any Disney movie cartoons, a lot of them had this going in spades for years... and then you start to feel like if you've seen one you've seen 'em all... then somebody finally comes along and shakes things up for real. I think right now we're in a lowered-bar state of productions where effects are certainly taking precedent over real content.
