For those with lens adapters, it has a "flip" function where it flips the image horizontally and vertically.

It runs on a Sony battery, which I will be selling with the monitor.

I'm asking $750 with no shipping or paypal fees...

Not cool!

Leonard, you made an offer, I accepted your offer and said I would buy it. You told me what day it would ship - we had an agreement - a contract.

Then minutes before I sent the money via PayPal (which I did send, thinking I could trust you) you sold it to someone else. Really disappointing business practice.

When someone else asked about the monitor, you should have said it was pending.

REALLY Not cool.

In his defense, you had no legal contract. Also, this is not eBay. Many people say they are going to pay and dont, if someone snuck in before you, c'est la vie. He does not run a business, he is just a guy trying to sell off some gear to whoever gets him the money first. I have lost some sales in the past "holding" stuff for people who never paid.

I'm sorry Ash, but I just don't agree. That is a very flippant attitude about integrity. I know you're a stand-up guy and a member in good standing both here and over on Chris' forum, but in this situation, I just can't agree with you.

He approached me trying to make the sale. I did not approach him.
He noticed I had tried to purchase another monitor. He talked me into buying his.

Also, It would be one thing if I had made a promise to pay and then disappeared and not responded, but that did not happen here. Neither was it left up in the air. It was a very definite agreement to sell, and I did not delay an inordinate amount of time in paying. He sent his PayPal ID late Friday night after I was in bed. The next day, I got the info, drove into town to the bank to move money from my savings account into my checking account to make the payment (It wasn't working online, for some reason - maybe because it was Saturday). Then I came home, waited for a dvd compile to complete on Compressor that I had started before I left, then immediately logged on and made the payment as promised.

Then, a couple of hours later, the payment came back, so I logged on to see what had happened. At 2:48, Prodigi offered to make payment. At 2:50 my payment was sent - only 2 minutes later. There is NO way Prodigi sealed the deal and made payment before I did. Also, it was 2 hours after my payment was made when Len finally declared the monitor "sold."

I believe the ethical thing to do would have been to decline Prodigi's offer when my payment came in, since our agreement was made the previous day. My suspicion is that Prodigi paid more than me and when he saw that, he decided to not stick to our bargin and send my money back. If you look at the timeline, I think that's pretty obvious. To me, that does not show much integrity.

Not to digress, but perhaps what bothers me more, is that after we had struck our agreement and I asked for his PayPal ID and he sent it, he also asked if I knew of any Arri quality lights he could purchase, since that why he was selling his monitor. I have a set of Arri, and a couple others, but I use them regularly, so I couldn't offer him mine, but I sent some emails to some of my other buddies in production. I figured since he made me a good deal, I would help find one for him. By the time I started hearing back from those people, I had to tell them to never-mind. I just fell a bit used, here, in the whole situation.

I'm not saying he is an evil person, I did not rant and rave or call names or use profanity or say anything unreasonable. I just think a bad decision was made here, and I wanted to have enough self respect to say I don't like being treated like that.

Prodigi,

I am sorry you took it that way. I was not accusing you of anything - you had no idea I was still in the picture.

You are in New Mexico, so the time stamp on the posts for you will read 2 hours earlier. I am on Eastern Time. In your time, I paid at 12:50 - 2 minutes after your post.

PayPal can't remove money from my savings account, only my checking account, which is why I moved the money, and I paid as soon as I got back. I tried to move it online and it didn't work. I did use PayPal.

IMPORTANT: Okay, this is getting blown up beyond where it should. This is not as big of a deal as it is becoming. I am over this -- really. I was understandably frustrated at first and I tried to calmly and concisely talk about it, and I have tried to answer questions put to me since then, that is all. I'm not stewing about it anymore. I promise to let this drop and accept it as a misunderstanding.

Thanks,

Vence

(My last post was in answer to a post that has apparently been removed - at least I can no longer see it.)

Len,

Like I started to say in my last post, I am no longer comfortable with the tone of this thread. Earlier tonight, this whole thing was on my mind while I was giving my 11 month old daughter a bath and while we were playing in the water, it occurred to me what was really important, and how useless this whole argument has been. I can see your side of the story, and I don't want to be unreasonable. I hope you can understand why I was so frustrated, but regardless, I want to apologize if I was harsh.

I hope the money helps you fund your next project and I hope it is a success.

I am not sure how it went down but it is probably something you should have handled privately. We dont know his side either, who knows maybe someone had paid and he was not fully aware of it. At any rate, you were refunded promptly. I doubt it was anything egregious or unethical, just some crossed wires. That is why I try to sell on these forums as much as possible. This is not a market but a community. Take care and enjoy the little one, I have 2 myself.
