My company is doing a lot of ENG shoots these days and we've come across a rather interesting conundrum: What do you say when you are going out to shoot someone (with a camera that is)?
Coming from the TV industry that is the proper term - to go out on a shoot or to shoot someone. But we've slowly realized that standing on the SkyTrain or in line at the bank talking about shooting people isn't the best idea. So what do you say instead?
to film someone sounds waaay too pretentious
to tape someone sounds like you're working in radio (and a "taping" sounds like someone is recording you)
we're at a bit of a loss here. anyone have good alternatives or should I continue shooting my subjects?
