First Shooting Day On My No Budget Feature

Saturday was the first day of shooting on my no/low budget feature, "Dark Souls". It's a supernatural thriller geared towards being shootable on next to nothing.

It's being shot in HDV, using the JVC HD101E. I was pretty happy with the first day's results.

You can see some frame grabs and behind the scenes stills here:

Wow. Great looking stills you have there. Love the soft light on their faces and nice location too. Any chance at seeing some footage?

Nice looking grabs. Nice bleached look with some nice browns and burgundies.

Definitely interested in a day by day micro-budget journal.

Please keep stuff coming.

Can you give us any ideas about number of locations and cast, etc.

thanks

BennisHahn: No plans to put up any footage just yet. Juggling a few too many things at the moment :-)

Jack: There are about a dozen principle and supporting cast, with a few bit parts as well. There are about eight locations, although the bulk of those are private residences.

The link for "Blackout" is now active. Thanks for pointing that out.

For those who are interested, I've put up the first couple of entries in my Director's Diaries. They're kind of long and rambling at the moment. I'd appreciate any input about what you guys would specifically like to hear about:

I definitely like the last few stills. Very pleasant look.

Now, how cold is it there? Everyone seem to wearing warm clothes. I'd be glad to fly there and stay in the nice cold windy weather. Right after I get enough tan that is.
