Yesterday on a MBP LED with 10.4.10 installed:

Repair permissions
Installed the Intel Panasonic driver and the AJ-PCD20 driver.

Did not install any duel systems driver.

Rebooted

1. Repaired permissions
2. Plugged in the adapter.
3. Plugged in the 16 Gb p2 card which immediately mounted

Copied 12 Gbs of data in 2x RT

That's the same software I am using successfully with the Duel and 16 Gb P2 cards on my MacBook Pro (17", latest model 2.4 GHz)

Also updated HVX 200 camera firmware to 4.06 which Panasonic just released. So far so good...

Thanks for the info. How do you "repair permissions"?

No, I didn't install any duel adapter driver at all.

Repair permissions is done with the OS X Disk Utility in the Applications/Utility Folder.

When all else fails, best just to google the term

Good luck

Not really.

These two drivers: Intel Panasonic driver and the AJ-PCD20 driver

both from the Panasonic web site appear to permit the card to reliably mount.

Duel Adapter with 17" 2.4 MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.4.10 Intel Panasonic driver and the AJ-PCD20 driver...

Update: working fine. Location shoot yesterday with three cameras; loaded and copied about 20 consecutive P2 cards with the Duel Adapter. It worked flawlessly with both 8 and 16 Gb P2 cards. I did make sure to keep everything running the entire time; Energy Saver set to never off, hard drives to never sleep. That's the trick with this driver iteration- never let it unload.

This has been working well for me. Thanks for posting. You still cannot remove and re-insert the Adapter without re-booting correct?

Thanks.

You still cannot remove and re-insert the Adapter without re-booting correct?

Correct. Leave the Duel Adapter inserted during use. If it needs to be uninserted, remove it then restart the computer promptly to avoid chaos. This is a buggy driver issue- the driver works if you follow the strict guidelines it requires. Any deviation can result in a hard system crash.

It works for me as long as I adhere to the format of insertion and continuous functionality based on the caveats of never letting anything sleep or stop activity.
