and I need some advice.

I got myself a redrock M2 with lenses (nikkon ones 55mm, wide angle and tele).
Thing is I'm gonna shoot most of the stuff inside. I got myself a set of Par 56

Do you think it will be enought light for the 35 mm ? Any tips on how to shoot with that big bastard ( I already forgot about handheld and steadycam shots)?

Help me guys !!! :)

[edit] can any of you share his dvx scene file settings for a shooting with the redrock adaptater ?

You didn't really give us an idea of how many watts of light you'll have with those fixtures.

Have you looked into fluorescent ligthing? It gives more light per watt (four or five times more), so it'll stay much cooler shooting indoors in the summer with all those lights.

I'll have 2 300W par 56, 2 500W par 56 and a set of 3 600W lights with barndoors. And we will shoot at night so it won't be as hot as in plain day

Well, sounds like plenty of lights to pull of pretty much any kind of look. I don't know where you like, but unless its Antarctica, it's gonna get real hot with even a couple of those lights on.

Well, you've got some wattage, so now you're going to have to get it under control. You don't want to be just blasting everything simply because you're worried about light-loss with the RedRock.

So - the next obvious question is how's your French with 'Gripology'? What grip gear do you have to flag, bounce, dim, scrim and diffuse those lights?

My DP is gonna handle that, lot of spoon, black papers and reflectors he already did a great job in our test footage so I think now with the help of the holy redrock it's gonna be awesome !

Sounds good. I wish you the best of luck!

You'll have to post some screen-grabs when you get the chance.

Maybe Im too late. But 3 600 watt lights and a couple of 300 pars may not be enough. Depends on what and how youre trying to shoot. Id recommend renting a couple of 1ks.
