Naming your Company

There could be any number of reasons or influences for how one names a production company but like ZFARMS, I too named my company, Xristos Productions, after my father (Xristos was his first name). My reason...he was a greek immigrant in Australia who busted his a.. to provide for his family, wanted the best for me and dreamed that I would become a lawyer or the such...totally dismayed with my eventual choice and I always thought that if I ever made it he would see things differently...he died before that ever happened so I named my company after him to honor him and also because he's stuck with me now whether he likes it or not...Love you dad...

Puffin Films. I always liked puffins (the bird) but i used to puff too. Has a nice ring to it. I remember when I first came up with the idea I checked to see if puffinfilms.com was available and it wasn't. A few years later I went on a trip to Maine and saw some puffins and it reminded me of the name so I checked again and it was available. Musta been fate.
 
binary also mean 1and 0 yes, but mine has more mean than one and zeros. plus i got mine from a man who is very important and froma culture it important term in. just cause binary is computer term here doesnt mean it is over there. 1 and 0 good and evil it's balance.
 
There are legal obligations and hassles, anytime you D.B.A. , as opposed to Joe Shmoe. Since that is just a minor annoyance, there is also a chance for people to "not get it", and possibly pass on using you.

Since it is for your film production, you need to search your inner self, and find the description that best suits you. I chose Video Alchemy, because I edit the dull base video, and make it worth something. After a while, I noticed I wasn't the only one that liked that name, because there are a handfull of them out there.

A friend of mine were trying to come up with something...something simple...I don't think it needs to be artsy...just straightforward...not a big deal...

So, we were trying to come up with one and I told her "we'll come up with something when we do...not a big deal"...later that night I had a dream we were arguing about it. She was like..."i need you to come up with a name right now!" And in my dream I said, "do you want me to Pull A Name Out Of My Ass? and for some reason, it stuck with me when I got up in the morning.

aspiring - the name should mean something to you. I don't like Shadow MINDS but Shadow Films is okay. Still, what does shadow have to do with you? Do you like your shadow? Do you feel your life is in the shade? What?

What is your personality type? What means most to you? When people ask me what I do for a living online and I just want to get rid of them, I tell them I'm an Underwater Basketweaver, my volleyball coach use to yell at us and say, "If you can't play volleyball, then take up another sport, become an underwater basketweaver" - seriously, she said that to us all of the time and I almost used it as my production company name.
 
it only happened once....and charli was saying something about having something more feminine. And this way when ppl see me they know ima girl without me having to state it. =)

ok ok someone came up with a pretty cool name-- what about Rebelution Ent.? I know it's looking funny. It's 'rebel' and 'revolution' combine. b/c I think when you're indie, you're rebelling against Hollywood, you know doing it your own way and reveloution b/c maybe one day that's what i'll start. =)
