"On The Lot" tonight

Yeah Kenny had to go. His cab film was so stupid and annoying. I wanted to slap everyone in that movie.

And I didnt understand the light bulb one...

Yeah I still don't understand those two films. Great examples of ideas not translating to film.

There were actually a few films that had great ideas, or interesting concepts, but were never well developed.

The Aliens one was cool, but 1 barf was enough. They should have gone into some walking on a line while touching your nose, or some funny excuses in the alien language:

"Zork bork ita waaaaakh hehehe"
"It's not your friend's ship, but it's your cousin's?"

Cop pulls out a bag filled with purple weeds

"Ita compla"
"If it's not yours, then who's is it?"

It was still cool, but more could have been with it. Maybe a cop's spoof even.

Or how the one with the pee ended on a bad note. Should have focused more on the fact that she needs to stop the bus anyway possible, untill she finally does it and pees outside, but something happens, like she wipes herself with poison ivy after peeing in the bushes, or she gets left behind as the bus driver laughs when she goes to a stall in a gas station, then someone else on the bus suddenly has to go.

Anyways...

or, you change one shot and change the outcome of the film entirely. the cup of pee lands on the jogger. changes the mood entirely, and everything in the movie lead up to that. it's no longer about just needing to pee and having it smell, it's eventually going to land on a dude.

Exactly

Or she could have just ended it with the pee being thrown out the bus window and having a relieved look on her face.

Grasshopper

Or she could have realized the cup was JUST NOT enough and more cups were needed. Then she would have been in BIIG trouble..

hhahahaha True story..happened to me on the road from Las Vegas to L.A. I ended up going in empty coke bottles..and those things are small...

I just don't get it... these people who obviously are OUT THERE are told they are "great filmmakers" How many "great filmmakers" can we have in this world? All of the judges are way too nice... my 2 cents.

Did you notice that two out of four foreigners were knocked off? What are the bets that the other two will quickly go.

i know charli, the forigners are leaving quickly but give them drama and them will do good. international humor is harder to work in the us.

I don't foresee this show getting renewed for a second season. Sitting through 70 minutes of boredom just to see 18 minutes of short films isn't a good ratio.

I am just happy... I know I can really make this whole film thing happen... I am not as bad of a filmmaker as I once thought.

I'm pretty dissappointed with 'On the Lot'... was expecting it to be a little more original and perhaps even learn a few things... but it seems just more like a modification of 'The Apprentice' with creative types instead of business junkies. I really don't like how they screw around with those aspiring filmmakers, either - they deserve more respect than some gameshow contestant.

Not that it is a bad show, and heck - I love seeing what those guys come up with using the HVX200... but nonetheless, it could have been so much better. Was hoping to at least learn something from it.

I give this show the coveted, not worth the energy of pressing the button on the remote for.

I turned it on by mistake the other night... made a late dinner so I thought I'd see what was on the tube... and I had it on Fox...

Caught the last half of the show... but I really thought it was funny on how the judges had to eat crow on GETTA ROOM... the week before they thought they had to play up the PC stuff... and then America votes and its top at the box office...

well i thought it was messed up too but people will vote for anything. i mean its fnny but that wasnt a nerd i met that guy in Atl when were there for interviews.

if he wanted that guy to come off like a nerd he failed. that was his mistake on directing. it was one of the funniest shorts though, lol.

I didn't apply for the show, in part because my employment history screwed me before even starting to fill out the form, but what's sort of baffling to me, is that it seems like it would be one heck of a lot easier to actually just start working in the business, than go through all this horrible-sounding craperoo for the sake of being on a tv show...

yeah but when you're young like me you take any chance you can... but some people in their 40s on the show is like what have they been doing?
