"On The Lot" tonight

Did they ever show the 1hr. 1 page directed scenes?
No. It looks like they are trying everything to save the show. They dropped from 24 to 18 contestants for last nights show. They have been losing nearly 75% of their lead-in audience from shows like Idol and So you think you can dance.

Sad to say it but America does not want to see hopeful directors, especially not in this format. The only thing that may save it from getting cancelled is Speilberg's name, but I doubt it will be back for a second run.

As for the guy Marty's trailer. I think he got what was going on here and figured that this show would not last so why not use last night as sort of a presentation of his completed film to pitch to potential investors. I think his 1 minute was geared towards selling his film as opposed to staying on this doomed show.

I kept yelling to my sister, "See that, right there, see that, I have that! That's my camera they're using!"

She told me I should be out using it instead of watching other people using it.

ST, from your sister's mouth to our ears.

I agree. Only us film/video geeks want to watch this sort of thing to see if we can pick up some techniques or compare what we can do with what they can do so that we can boost our own egos, so to speak.

You could very well be right - if that was his intention, then he's a smart guy! :)

he used an xl2 with a 35 adaptor. he on been on boards he an ok guy just kinda annoying and i think he made a trailer becuase he couldnt think of anything cohesive for 1 min. granted show his skills but didn't show his story telling abilities.

the host looks good but her hosting skills blows
I think she was a critic or hollywood reporter on CNN headline news. I guess this is her first hosting gig.

wow this episode is just a pointless waste of time, why didnt they just say these 3 went home on the website and not waste an hour of our time?

and why do people think jasons was offensive, its the only funny one that was shown. i hope that foreign girl with blond hair goes, she was really bad and annoying.

I am really enjoying the show. I also realize this show would not appeal to the general public. I also have to say I do not care for the hostess. Though she looks good, her voice is irritating to me.

Considering these are suppose to be amateur filmmakers, I am stunned at the resources they have available to them. From watching what went into making their one minute comedy short, I could only compare what I have available to me to accomplish the same thing - basically a DVX and Sony digital 8 camera, a green screen, a couple of microphones and NO crew. Of course I have no talent available to me either so I now know I am a long ways off from being able to become a filmmaker. Maybe I should consider selling me gear and going back to gardening. I must say though I am enjoying the show and plan to watch it until it is canceled!

This show is pissing me off. It's being dragged on wayyy too long with the host taking deep breaths/sighs and repeating and repeating and repeating the names of the people.

AAAHHH!!

Yeah, they need to work out the results show a lot better. Make it more entertaining. How are they going to drag it when there are less and less directors left?

I agree that the host is hot, but dull. She's just fake and annoying, a directors worse nightmare.

As for the choices. WTF? Kenny didn't go home!? I was sure he would go home. Same for the girl that did the screwing in the light bulb. *sigh* Anyways, glad the box office 3 were good choices.

Yeah Kenny had to go. His cab film was so stupid and annoying. I wanted to slap everyone in that movie.

And I didnt understand the light bulb one...

Kenny's what they call "good tv". I'm pretty sure the producers kept him around so he could stir up some more problems with his "you don't have to go to filmschool to be a filmmaker" glockenspiel.
