Trailer for off-road desert racing DVD

[jdfilms]

Here is a link to our trailer for our new off-road desert racing DVD. It's the fifth DVD in the series and our first one we used footage from the HVX200 in. There are also some DV and HDV clips that were converted to DVCPRO HD to use in the project.
We shot in 720-24pn on the HVX.

Looks really good mate, what Shutter speed did you use for the overcranked footage

[jdfilms]

Thanks! We used 1/250 for most of it.

the heli shots were super smooth. was that on a stabilizer or was it smoothed in post?

whoa. editing made this thing pop baby. whoever paid you for this production got their money worth.

[DCERVENKA]

How did you get the shot at 00:00:42 ?

The only way I get paid is by selling DVDs! I am the producer, editor, graphic designer and I film as well. I have a partner that films and we also have some people that provide us shots from certain races. The two of us have been doing this since 2000 and this is our fifth desert racing DVD. I produced a rock crawling DVD on my own a couple of years ago.

DCERVENKA, the shot at .42 was from the CORR short course races that are in Southern California. My friends produce the TV shows that are on NBC. It's from a cable camera similar to the ones they use in X Games and football games. Unfortunately the footage we get from them is only DV but they should be shooting HD in the future.

cheezweezl, the heli shots haven't been stabilized. I just have to pick the shots I use very carefully. I was trying to learn Shake to smooth out some shots but ran out of time on this DVD.

Look 1st, it's hard to say how much of the entire DVD is HVX footage but probably at least half of it. We were filming since March 2006 and got our HVX's in December. Some others that provided footage use HVX's also. Before December we were using Sony FX1's.
