You started us on the right path, the quailty of this film would not have been possible without all of the devoted users who were honest with us and answered every question we asked, quickly, and creativly!

This movie was shot with the HVX-200, Redrock Micro's M2 35mm adapter, and with Zeiss superspeed T1.3 35mm lenses. (can you pick the nikon lens shots?)

Please do us the honor of viewing the trailer and giving us your comments on the visuals and the story.. The good, the bad, and the REALLY good comments are always welcome with open arms.. :dankk2:

Every time I see this title I think REsident Evil... just had to say that.

A little more tame than Resident Evil.. Even though the hip hop industry is pretty evil!

great quality. Made me think this was a real hollywood release trailer. Your going places.

That's a really amazing thing to say! Thank you so much.. We had a really hard time cutting a trailer, we didn't think would give much of the story away.. It was a challanges, but we are really pleased with this trailer..

Thanks for the comments..

Pretty nice, man... looks like you've gone after a really full story, lots of well-developed characters.

Full story is right.. especially for a 12 day shoot!

Thanks for the comment!

(Corona is a GREAT beer) < this has nothing to do with the fact I like the product.. The Ice cold beer that goes down smooth...........

Justin, always awesome footage.

Superspeed/Nikon, harder to pick from a half resolution clip. Only possible one I could pick was at 1:19, close up night shot, I can see the heptagon bokeh, indicative of the aperture blades on a Nikon/SLR lens?

Please tell more about the superspeed lenses and your experience. Do you find pulling focus on a cine lens much better than Nikon? I find Nikon/SLR frustrating, as you have say 3mm of rotation for a range of infinity to 3m on certain lenses.

12 day shoot. What kind of crazy hours a day were you clocking? I am aiming at shooting a feature in 12 days, based on 2 x 6 day week.

This may be personal production budget info, however, are you able to disclose any budget details on this one? Thanks.

very very very well doen my friend.

great acting, great lighting, your trailer was interesting and kept my attention, which means you did your job. I would love to see more!

@ 1:19 that was a ZEISS.. :-) Keep guessing!

Pulling focus is easier on a CINE Lens, due to the size of the barrel. On a still lens the slightest turn could be from 1-20 feet. CINE lens's could be a whole rotation for the same move... BUT the nikons still look fantastic.. If a gear system could be created to make smaller teeth and extend the barrel range, of the standard nikon, I would use them.

Let me just say focus with both wasn't easy, but you get used to it.

We actually didn't have "crazy" hours..
We shot 6 days, day off, then 6 more. Most we're 12 hour days, 1-10 hour day, but nothing over 14.

My advice is use any and ALL pre-production time to really make a SOLID plan.. Have a GREAT AD that stays on top of things going on, and things that need to go on for the NEXT shot! Make sure you have someone you trust calling the talent. Nothing sucks more than finding out you have to shoot a scene with 4 people in a moving car, but 2 are coming in at a different time, and oh, you cant have a moving car... Details baby.. (was a fun scene to shoot actually!)

I'd love to answer the budget question, but what fun would that be? We did have craft service and a wardrobe car..

Thanks for taking the time to check out the trailer and comment... If you have any other questions (besides $$) I will be more than happy to answer them..

Justin, I am surprised the Superspeed lenses have that type of bokeh. I notice wide open some cine lens aperture blades, like an Angenieux zoom I am in the process of converting to PL mount, have more of an octagonal blade structure. I can not pick which is Superspeed/Nikon. Very inspiring work.

In a market flooded with posturing this is refreshing. Footage looked nice, and the song complimented your images and tone.

The acting looks a cut above. Did the talent get involved for love or money? (You seemed to hint the budget was small :))

Were the blown skies a stylistic choice? They don't detract...but were one of the few things that suggested you shot on a HVX.

I'm guessing you used the superspeeds for all lowlight footage at least? Nikon 1:03, 1:07? Throw us a bone! :)

What was your role on this?

Thanks guys..

Thanks guys..

Shooting GLASS through GLASS always leads to some interesting finds.. But shooting wide open with the Superspeeds was the only way to accomplish many of the shots, so that probably didn't help much..

Happy that this could be inspiring, it's gives me that warm and tingly feeling inside.. :-) If you have anything else you would like to know, ask here or PM me..

Hi StMad..
Jeremy Mitchell, Lee Cipolla, and Nicanson Guerrier wrote a GREAT script.. When you have a great story, everything else falls into place..

A few of our actors are fairly well known in the local RAP market, and we used their music, and re-recorded some of their songs to fit better into the film. I'm sure this film will launch them further ahead with their music careers.

I really don't know why the actors got involved, but my guess is because they saw this film as original, and marketable, but you would have to ask them for the real reason..

Blown out sky, was a post effect for the trailer.. The HD version doesn't reek HVX though.. ;-)

We shot the movie with the Zeiss SS.. Only pickup shots where with the NIKONS.. The first shot with the cars driving was with a NIKON Lens..

My role on this project was that of Producer/DP.

AMEN! Thanks for noticing.. Our star Nemesis was pretty dark, and it was a challenge.. But challenges are what make you a stronger person..... (I sound like an afterschool special)

Thanks guys for the comments!!:dankk2:
