"When a man loses everything, will morals get in the way of his survival?"

This short has been a huge learning experience for me and my partner, mainly with story telling and the development of a character. Right now the film has just left my hands to be composed and I'm anxious to screen it in our first film festival on June 8th. For the time being I wanted to post a few grabs and have the thread here for updates.

Camera - DVX100B

Audio - Senn ME80

Editing - Vegas Video 6.0

Color Correction - Magic Bullet

Jesee here,

I'm so happy we finally finished and can move on. Filming One More Day has been the most fulfilling and wonderful expierences I've ever had filming a short. I'm so thankfull for all the help from our actors and friends, they really made the time fun. Just a small reminder to all the people doing their own thing, you can never have too much pre-production. I can't stress this enough, making sure you have what you want by planning early on makes for a fun and relaxing shoot. We had soooo much fun filming this short. Production went smoother than we ever could have imagined. Make sure you have fun and remain positive at all times. I'm rammbling now, sorry. We will have the short up on our website, skippyfx.com, by June 10th (hopefully). Thanks for your time and never give up!

Jes...

05/20 - UPDATE

The final wrap was called last night with the completion of the soundtrack. Working with the new composer has been a huge learning experience within itself.

I've already been through a few renders trying to get the best quality for the web. It will be available by no later than Thursday.

This has been such an exciting experience for us, we can't wait to share our work with you.

I really enjoyed that, awesome work guys and as stated, Good luck at the festivals.

I'm a little curious what preset you used in Magic Bullet to achieve the look of this film. It really has the visual that I'm looking to for a film I'm working on. I'm too shooting with a DVX100B and editing with Vegas (7).

Wait a minute, that man was starving? To death? Hmm.

But, hey - it looked great. I think I might have liked a bit more of a soundscape, some nat sound from the environment around him, mixed in with the music. But that's just me. What I'm really impressed with is the professional look. Congrats!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Bus No. 8 - We have noticed our lack of character establishment and talked about it substaintially. As stated before, this has been a huge learning experience for us dealing with character development and traits which we are excited about applying to our future shorts. On a side note, this is only our 3rd short film for both of us.

Kentertainment - The look was achieved mainly with Magic Bullet and suttle corrections with Color Curves. I used the "Basic" Preset as a guidline but changed almost everything except the 3-Chip Camera settings.
