i know of the letus35, brevis & M2 are these all compatable with thr hv20 ? wich one is the cheapest, as i will be using it as a hobbiest and not payed film work. what will i need to attach them ? do i need a rig or mount settup ( sorry dont know what its called ) becuase of the added weight ? i was thinking the 'Letus35 Flip Enhanced' shown here http://www.letus35.com/page3.html as the image will be shown the right way up ? noobie with 35mm adaptors needing help.

PS: i'm not after the best, i'm after cheap that works ! :)

The letus is the least expensive as far as i know. and it has a nice picture.

i was thinking the 'Letus35 Flip Enhanced' shown here http://www.letus35.com/page3.html will this screw straight on to the hv20 thread ? or will i need to buy something else to make it work, also with the lenses, this just comes with 1 lense right ? any it will not film upside down it will film the normal upright pic right ?

Letus35FE works excellently with the HVX200, with the exception that you can't really use it (or any other vibrating adapter) and higher shutter speeds (such as you'd encounter when doing slow-mo).

I'd originally thought this an egregious flaw with the Letus, but I've since become reconciled to it. Primarily because I had a chance to use the $11,000 mini35 with the HVX, and it has the exact same issue. It's just something that happens with vibrating adapters and higher shutter speeds.

But short of that, the Letus35 Flip Enhanced is amazing for the price.

Marty

here is some info and really nice screen grabs on the M2/HV20 combo:

http://dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=91230

It's a nice compact combination.

On Barry's last comment one of the advantages of the M2's fast rotating motion (vs. vibrating) is you can shoot at higher shutter speeds and smaller apertures than with vibrating solutions

Cheers

thanks for all the input guys the pics form those 35mm adaptors really do look good with the hv20, but still some loose end i need tired up like the Q's in the quote above.. i'm leaning towards the letus mailny on price but hearing great review from alot of places it making the choice easier... 700 seems like a great price. - marty.

thanks bvalente,

ok cool, is their a a pre built rod support for the hv20 and the letus35fe ? that i could buy ? and do all rod support systems bold on to any tripod ?

- marty , sorry for all the Q's

EDIT: it says on the letus35 site "swappable Canon FD / Nikon AI metal mounts" does that mean, only canon & Nikon lenses can be used, so it HAS to be a canon 'FD' or nikin 'AI' Lens ???

thanks marty.

I'm also about to purchase a HV20 and wanting to also purchase a 35mm adapter. I'm trying to decide between the SGPro, Letus, Brevis and M2. Leaning toward Letus due to price and auto flipping.

Glad this forum is here. Learning a lot!

youre gonna lose alot of light using the LetusFE. The Hv20 isnt exactly the fastest camera evermade.

The HV20 is in the ballpark of 100 ISO. The L35FE takes up about 1.5 stops. That means you'll be working with an effective ISO of about 40.

yea it seemed ok in the sun..... Wait till you take it indoors
dont take this as an attack or starting an arguement by any means.. but i would just compensate by adding lights, maybe it wont work all that well in natural indoor light, but if thats the case then i would just add more lights, or try my best to make it look better in post.
