To All Camera Buyers...

Also, IMHO RatingsPlanet.com is rigged as well. Stores that are well-known to use high-pressure sales pitches, bait-and-switch, and other tactics have very good ratings on that site, which should be impossible.

Just went there. Anyone rating Broadway Photo as a "trusted seller" is rigged.

do these companies pay for magazines we read because, i dont see why they get to advertise and assoicate on professional magazines when they obviously have no reputation with them. someone please shed some light on this.

I see Broadway Photo in the respected Videography magazine all the time.

I would love to see a feature article in Videography that chronicles trying to buy a cam, such as a HVX200, from Broadway at the price advertised in the mag

Perhaps one of us should do the world a favour by writing an article then.
I would never get published. Those magazines rely on ad revenues. I have seen a decrease in Broadway ads.

I can't agree 100% more. I know there were other scam stores in Magazines that have been pulled but I don't know why Broadway Photo has not been. They are complete garbage and their operation is shadier than you know what. I think a mass of e-mails should be sent to magazines that carry those ads b/c they are not trust worthy/authorized dealers.

The almighty dollar rules. The magazines are competing with each other for shrinking ad revenue and they don't care where the money comes from. The ad sales people will sell their soul for a commission. I know because I used to work in that industry before I got into video. The only way to demonstrate to a magazine how dissatisfied you are with an advertiser is to stop buying their mag. Even that is futile because almost all of them are free anyway.

Hmm...Well someone (with some knowledge on the issue) ought to publish in a newspaper then. Spicey stories like these are gobbled up by the newspapers pretty fast.

Right, they'd never walk away at that price unless they ID themselves as being from Videomaker Magazine.
