Where to rent Merlin in NYC

Hello, I am looking to rent a Steadicam Merlin for this weekend (18-20) but I can't seem to find any rental houses who carry it. I thought before that Abel Cine carried it, but they seem to have it listed for purchase only. Would any of you personal owners out there rent it for the weekend? Thanks.

If you are using it for the first time, be prepared for some time (a few weeks) to practice before you can get reliable shots.

This sounds like it may be a job for an operator with their gear. Steadicam's normally only dry hire to experienced operators (at which point you would probabaly allready know that)

Post in the "jobs" section that you are looking for a Merlin owner/operator for a shoot. Be prepared to pay them somethign for their gear and time.
Also check out the Steadicam operator listing at www.steadicam-ops.com

I own and rent out my Merlin. It's not that big a deal. If your athletic and reasonably coordinated you can be doing straight push in and pull backs within an hour. But to really do more finesse moves (push, pan, job, lock off) it'll take a few days of practice. Start doing your curls as well. Arm will get tired.
