Great heads-up! Thanks! I just bid on two, one for my own stuff and one for work (my job requires I shoot pictures of circuit boards and other electronic devices, and this looks like a good way to get nice even light for that).

Is there away to mod these lights to be adjustable? So the light isn't always so powerful? That would be great I would buy that for $30. Maybe just 3 settings high mid low.
 
a solution is to crack it open add a dimmer and hook it up to a battry pack. For 5u.s.d i am very happy with the results. it lights my subject up to 2-3meter away. You can get the 24 led one or the 48 led . depending on your taste.
 
Wow, that company must be making A KILLING on those lights! It's like a 99% profit margin!
BTW, how well do the lights actually work? Anyone have any of their own sample footage or screenshots?

Did you buy it off ebay or elsewhere? I'm a little sketchy to buy one off ebay where the item location is listed as Hong Kong...
 
check out the company link http://www.flolight.com/miclight.htm . it is the same results that i got. to much trouble for me to post a movie up. there is a on of button . and you just press it down, like a spring button.

I got mine while on holiday in hongkong

Actually though, it was good it did.

If you go down a little further to see what else this guy sells he has alot more of them... 33 more... OK... 27 now. I just bought 6 of them.

Just ordered one. Definitely worth the risk. I can always stick it on a closet wall if I don't like how it works with my DVX.

There are always tons of it. there is a 24led version or 48 led version. I also got one that has no hole but has a magnet backing. I intend to do a L-shap bracket and hook it up on to camera shoe. there is a picture here:

this one has 2 modes of light. inner lights or the whole thing.

I'm glad that you guys are having fun buying this LED light thing. For $5 , you can go wrong.....

Now all you need are some dimmers for these things. As it turns out though, that can be a rather expensive proposition. From the ones I've seen, more expensive than these LEDs as it's not just a simple 'turn down the input voltage thing.'

What's the least expensive dimmer anyone has found?
