HVX + Brevis, Short Film "Dog Down"

Sorry everyone, gives us a bit and it will be back up. It was looking a bit choppy for some reason so we are going to re export it and repost. Check back in a little while!

Thanks!

There was a lot of compression artifacts in the short. You may want to try recompressing with a higher bitrate. Made the footage look poor. Also, some of the shots were very soft. Not sure if it was the natural look of the brevis or the focus but the image looks somewhat distracting.

Thanks all! Yeah, there definitely is some edge to edge softness issues going on. YOu really have to take your time with the brevis and lenses to get everything right. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Not sure about an Out of Sight reference. Been a while since I saw that movie.

Oh, I meant the freeze-frame where he's throwing his briefcase up in the air and his tie is flying. Oh well!

Clever movie nonetheless. I'd say it has some pacing/story development problems (maybe "quirks" is a better word) but overall I enjoyed it.

What really stuck out to me was the great sound editing!

QUESTIONS:
1) What kind of mics did you use? specifically what product.
2) Did you ADR any of the dialogue?

:dankk2:

Thanks for the gracious comments. We recently did some color correction on the film with FCP, I'm much more happy with the project right now. Please check it out again, same address.

For those interested, we used a Sennheiser ME66 for most of the shots, with a Lectro 201 lav backup on Sam (the central character).

Let me know if you have any other questions. We had a lot of fun making it. Now on to some festivals!

Dude that was awsome. I usually hate voice over but this one kept me in the story and wasn't annoying. Very well done!
