switching to a new brand tape

I recently got a dvx100b. I shot about a hour worth of tape on it, with the master series tape that came with it. If I'd like to start to use a diffrent brand of tape( say sony, there easier to come by and I've had good luck with them) should I use a cleaning tape on it or is that not really needed?
 
I would recommend sticking with Panasonic tapes for the DVX. There have been hundreds of posts about this topic here. If you search you can read all about it. You can get Panasonic PQ tapes from B&H online for less than $4/tape. And, if you're out of NY, there's no tax either. Just have to deal with shipping (not expensive, just need a few days). Good luck with the new camera.
