Haha, in abalex's case I can see where this might be confusing. During dramafest it kind of became an ongoing joke about "The Corsairs". On the set of Threading The Needle, the joke went something along the lines of Mark Johnson saying "It's good, but it's no 'Corsairs'!" -- We shot a 30 minute film on the DVX100b and it was called "The Corsairs". We have since learned a considerable amount more about filmmaking and have also upgraded to the HVX200. Now we rewrote the script (It is now 93 pages in length, a good length for a feature film) and have begun to crack away at production. It's been a blast so far, and I'm so excited to show everyone how much we've come along... and how much we all still have to learn! There's no better way to learn than by getting out there and doing it!

One of the running themes of the movie is that there is always a bigger fish. It's a group of post-college kids who see themselves as hot **** because they're getting into the drug world and starting to make money. But through certain characters, Douglas and Diego, we see that they aren't all they're cracked up to be.

The movie centers around the breaking down of the Corsairs.

There's quite a few grabs there from the opening scene...

Our second shooting day approaches. In early May we're bringing our guest director Brian LaDuca on-board for a scene, and then the week following that we're shooting the most climactic scene which I'm a little bit worried about.

This is just the beginning.
 
Actually we're considering reshooting Developed on the HVX -- fix the voiceover, do a little more with the lighting... I'm pumped!

The script has also gone under considerable development. Only one line remains from the previous version, and it's also 94 pages long now! So we're pretty stoked.

Shooting has been delayed til July though. Actors... they were so excited to start again and then none of them could shoot this weekend. Bah! :)

But yeah, I'm doing some storyboards and Rob is doing some location scouting, so we'll hit the ground running in July. Can't wait!
 
Well, I just got a voicemail from Rob approving a new addition to the title sequence. Also, one of our actors, Jerod Walburn, might not be able to film this summer and he'll be back in LA next year. So I'm crossing my fingers that his schedule frees up in July. Otherwise, the joys of recasting.
