My First Film - Everyday Heroes

I finally finished my very first film ever! It is in standard def however, but It's a good story.
It's a fan film for the show "Heroes" on NBC.
I've posted it on iFilm - http://www.ifilm.com/profile/ruesterprod/video/2850043
also on Veoh - http://www.veoh.com/videos/v441500r9n5raMe

I made this film for $0, so there are lighting issues, some continuity issues. I will hopefully be shooting hi-def features soon.

Does anybody know where you can post a film that'll play larger file sizes. I put some subtle effects in the eyes in a few shots, but they aren't showing up.

Also, if anyone knows of any film festivals I could possibly enter this in would kick ass!

Thanks guys, hope you all enjoy!

If you want to put it in festivals, i'd really suggest dropping the 'heros' thing. It would save you copy right worries, and the story would definitely stand on it's own without it. Pretty neat, my only compliant is that the outside is a little too yellowish (for my tastes), but it does stay consistant so i know it was an aesthetic choice. I feel like a world where everyone is dying around you would look colder lol.

web hosting is as cheap as $4 a month. $20 can buy you 5 months of hosting. i use godaddy.com to host all my stuff.

Thanks all for your input!

Well, I'm a novice at all this. You're definitely right about the yellow! My color correcting skills need improvement. I used the Three way color corrector and Luma corrector mostly and visually tried to match! (Is there a better tool? or easier way?)
But I was going with a warmer look - I thought (maybe novicely) that the visual / emotional contrast would add a bit of unease, and add a bit of hope to the audiences perception of the character's situation so as to throw you off. (Was it a surprise to anybody, or were you expecting it?)
Thanks guys for watching, If anybody would like to add me as a myspace friend, feel free.

That was well done. Yeah some lighting, one shaky cam scene, a couple editing nitpicks (very minor, and I'm really picky), didnt even notice the continuity issues, but I'm not the brightest crayon either. Nice effects for sure. This looks great for no budget. Yeah I'd lose the Heroes link. Stands on its own just fine. Was that a switchblade key or something she had? Never did quite catch that. I want one if it was. And the sign on the door about walk idiot walk was distracting.

The switchblade keys are standard VW / Audi Keys (they are cool!) The whole shoot I rushed through in a day. I was trying like hell to get it done in time to enter into "On The Lot", but I later decided against it, so I didn't have the where-withall to really get picky about anything. My next project will hopefully be a lot cleaner.
It was a great crash course in no budget (or any budget, for that matter) filmmaking. I learned so much and can't wait to apply it to my next one (Thanks in part to all of you here, which DVXUser got a credit in this movie as well). I will hopefully be able to get some lighting going, and I really need to learn better methods of color-correction! I want to have a glidecam rig for it as well.

good thing about no/low budget shorts is you can always afford to do another project asap. i'm with you on that.
