Anyone has experience with the new Indie Snap! curved track dolly?

Went to the indie snap! site to check out their mattebox and found that they just added the curved dolly kit

For $400 including tracks it seems like an affordable solution. Just wondering if anyone has a chance to try it out yet? I've been considering various dollies and have held off purchasing because most of the ones in my price range are either straight tracks or curved tracks only. This one seems like it can do both.

I'm probably going to buy it next month, just wondering what are some of the negatives that come with this type of tripod based dolly?

why woudl you spend that much money on track....

you could make that same setup so easily..
pvc pipe would be the easiest... and its super lite...

that $389 is for two pieces of track and the dolly $150 for another piece of curved track. I use pvc myself, however this is probably more portable and better looking.

Curve track is difficult to make and the price seems right. Straight track we can definitely PVC. I'm concerned though that pushing the dolly using a tripod handle is less stable than a conventional platform.

Well, I am a firm believer in the weight factor of a dolly. My first attempt at building one worked ok, but my next one is going to be much heavier, more solid. Its nice to have that portability in something like this, but in order to be fool proof....

I definitely will be making both my dolly's with a double layer of 3/4 ply bolted together. Hopefully that will get rid of the bowed appearance that a lot of the HD pieces have and make things line up and track better.......
