Magma ExpressBox lets you use PCIe card with MacBook Pro

[AbstracTheory]

Magma has just announced a product to allow you to use PCIe cards with a MacBookPro Laptop via the expresscard slot.. This means you can add a video card, or a Kona card or any other PCIe card to your laptop.. Sweet! Retails for around $700-$800

While this is interesting, you'd still be limited by storage bandwidth. That's why the AJA IOHD sounds promising, it uses the fw800 port, leaving the expresscard slot open for eSATA connectivity.

doccutter I was thinking the same thing. Firewire 800 is what we would be limited to so no uncompressed capture. The one thing I was hoping is if it could take a external graphics card so I could run motion fast on a laptop. Anyone know that?
