I look like such a doof.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! lol, jk.

It's been pretty laborious trying to get this down to time. Our script was barely over 5 pages and I could edit this thing out to 9 minutes easy.

My cutting schedule:
6:00PM - 6:53:13
7:45PM - 6:47:22
9:00PM - 6:27:01
9:30PM - 6:22:10
10:10PM - 6:15:10
10:34PM - 6:08:19

I'm soooo close, but it's going to be a rough 8 seconds to cut, plus another 10 for the timelapse transitions that i have planned.

Arghhhh! I'm at 9 minutes on my rough cut. I gotta feeling I'll be in the same boat as you once I feel like there's nothing else left to trim!

In 6 min, most of the time you have to sit down in the editing room and ask yourself "what is this shot doing to progress the story?" Alot of easy cut decisions can be made like that.

I also will be utilizing a 2-3 frame credit sequence at the end; that saves on some space. But alas, i'm still about 10 seconds from where i need to be, but on the good side, cutting down like this has afforded me the opportunity to utlize a couple more cool transitions I hadn't thought of before.

Thanks B-man.

I'VE DONE IT!

As now we're sitting at 5:59:21, which leaves us a whopping two frames for a credit sequence and a one frame buffer for the 6 min limit. WHEW.

Now I'm working on my musical styles and temp tracks to give the talented Mr. Witkam some food for thought in his work.

BACK TO THE TIMELINE!

alright, showed my first cut under six minutes to Brad and Justin and they gave me some solid feedback, we're getting pretty close to picture lock! It's always good to have more than one pair of eyes on your edit.

Had to shorten our cool ass intro credit sequence but it really freed up time to let some of my other edits breathe a little.

Very cool Blood "explosion!" And thanks for the tips on how to do it! That look pretty dang good!

Congrats on the wrap and "screenings." Looking forward to your film.

wow, let me say that Mr. Herman Witkam works lightning fast.

along with working out all the kinks with Herman, I'm designing the final poster, refining sound effects, cleaning up dialogue recorded in noisy restaurant, compositing a few effects shots, compositing out some crew cameos, and editing this out to it's full length. I'm starting to think that shooting is the easy part now...

You and your mad drawring skills. Let's just go to animated features so i dont have to carry so many heavy things!

My name is Simon ... and I like to do DRAW-RINGS!

I just get lucky every once and a while and my scribbles turn out to look like the footage.

Let me know if you need any help in the sound department.
