Hey dudes.
Some friends from out of town was visiting, and as I do with any living objects that enter my door, they all become camera-rape victims.
Nothing special, but for you sgpro enthusiasts out there.
Shot with pentax 50mm, shutter at 1/60 and 1/250, and some CC was done in premiere.
45mb, quicktime h.264, 2 min.

And damn i want an SGPro, unfortunately i also have a girlfriend who wants to go to Europe for 3 months though so i gotta save!

Smetti,
your footage made me order the SGpro, I´m sooo looking forward to the end of this month...

Same here. And same here. Seriously...

Fantastic looking footage, again.

I'm such an impatient bastard. I want mine NOW (although I still haven't picked up any lenses or a monitor)

Yeah, the monitor issue...
But I already went for some lenses...

That's awesome, guys.
Glad I could help you making your decision on which adapter to get, you won't regret :)

And that's what our friends get for being friends with dvxusers! Either they let me film them, or friendship is off! :)

you move the camera alot but there isnt that strobing effect that we would get recording 24p. is that a pal thing that allows you to avoid that. or do you record in 50i for PAL settings. (60i) for us NTSC users. looks good again

It's a PAL camera shot in 25p mode, so maybe that's the reason you don't get that much strobing, I'm not really sure.
I'm actually in negotiations for a paying job at this moment, will hopefully get the sent in offer approved within a week. I need work! and money.. :)

REALLY clean footage and crisp. Can you talk about your CC and also how you expose for skin tones in such high contrast situations to get the most of the picture?

It's all run and gun footage, so I just open up and down the iris on the dvx and the iris on the lens to depending on the depth of field I like to use. When it comes to skintones, I just adjust exposure according to the face(though some shots have over exposed face), because I don't mind overexposing parts in the background since the dvx and sgpro seems to handle that pretty smooth.
The CC was done by crushing the blacks ans upping the whites a little bit in levels control in premiere. I then added about 30-40% of tint to every shot to get the cool desaturated look.

Thanks for watching the clip :)

nice footage:)
very indie looking..

du har en utrolig fet stil på bildene dine.. Digger det!
(du forbedrer dvx miljøet i norge:P)

Smettli,
One last question... Did you have the detail level up/down in camera on that footage? Thanks!

Wait... Which "tint" are you talking about? is it a color tint, or is that just what it's called in Premiere? (I use Final Cut, so maybe it's different)

the effect is called "tint" in premiere, it doesnt tint to any color, it just removes color into grey.

It's basically a split/duo-tone overlay effect with an opacity slider.
In a case like this, where black and white have not been remapped to other colors, you can achieve the same by adding a Hue/Saturation effect and bringing down the saturation an equivalent amount (ie. 30-40%)
