Ikan V8000 Details

I had a look at one at NAB, and found it to be pretty bad. Possibly good enough for focus, but not much else. The contrast was really odd- it went from white to grey very quickly, then slowly to black- looked terrible. Seemed almost blurry to me, but I had just looked at the Marshal and Nebtek offerings, which are twice the price.

Also, the man working in the booth was both misleading and rude.

Im attempting to secure one directly from IKAN, but its tough, done all i can do though and now its just a waiting game.

I'd be interested to hear more form people who have used one / tested one of these out side by side with a marshall or the swit form Varizoom. I just recently used the Marshall and the Swit on a shoot, and the Swit felt a lot softer then the Marshall, I also liked the colors on the Marshall a lot better. In the case of those two, I felt like th extra $500 for the Marshal was worth it to get better colors and sharpness. I wonder if this one can compete at $750 ....

I am expecting an ikan v8000 here this week. I'll size it up with my marshall and give the more detailed report

After you have had some time to do a side by side with the Marshall, I'd love to hears your thoughts- as I was considering the getting the Marshall over the swit, but now there is a new player...
 
i owned a SWIT and got rid of because of a subpar picture. Contrast, detail and saturation were all weak. Also, the build was too plasticky. Not in a good Petroff way. Own a Marshall, well worth it. Look at Ikan and look at Swit aside from the component out I can't see a big difference. Are you thinking what I am? So it ain't so.
