Somebody with some time and a 3D program...

Having both versions is a good idea. A backup version done entirely in cg is good.

Personally I would prefer the bottle rotating as little as possible. That could be a possible source of major headaches. If you are unable to stabilize it maybe try the hand held suggestion: A stick stuck to the bottom of the bottle. Hold onto stick and fake the bobbing.
And ofcourse the green label with tracking targets are needed for the motion capture.

Is it possible to slowmo it then render out an image sequence instead of say an avi.? I know Sony Vegas can do that. Don't know about others.
That way the images can be processed and composited without any loss and not have to worry about what frame rate it is.
That's just my personal preference but whatever you've got is okay.
If someone else is trying this they may have a different opinion.

Frame by frame (but not maually ofcourse). Most programs allow to to export the entire video as an image sequence. It takes a name such as myshot then dumps every frame into a folder and automatically appends a number onto the end like myshot0001.bmp.
The folder would look something like:
image0001.tiff, image0002.tiff, ect. I prefer *.bmp files but tiffs are okay, .jpg only if you have to because it can be lossy which defeats the purpose.

/I guess I'm having a hard time explaining. Lets say you shoot at 50fps, and edit your video to slow it down to 25fps. Okay now usually I would ask for a 25p uncompressed avi with no black borders.
If fact that would be fine. Otherwise I would want the raw footage from the camera so I could uncompress it myself. I hope I'm not making this too confusing. Maybe just leave it for now until you have a good shot and we'll take it up later.

You'll need to upload them to a ftp server. Then give me the ftp site name and the password so I can log in and download it. When I'm done I'll upload it back to the same site.

If you can't find an ftp server then someone around spyfest may allow you to use one of thiers to get this done. You'll have to ask around.

Also, what size are these files? (I would only want the one with the green label.)

2GB seems high. Right click on the file and check the properties.

How long do the credits run? I'd need that file too.

Spyfest is the current DVXuser film festival. They generally have about 4 per year. Check it out under the News heading forum.

damn ! use some compression at least, if its MiniDV you will not notice it, its not like your working in HD (and even then look what is done in HDV)

So I would suggest Huffyuv v2.1.1 :

http://neuron2.net/www.math.berkeley.edu/benrg/huffyuv.html

its lossless UPTO 4.28 : 1 compresion ratio (depending on setting) thats means your 2GB file wil become about 480 MB, and if you zip it ontop of that it may go down a little more,

best part no loss in quality!

enjoy

Yes that's okay. But before you do that can you tell me:

1/ The actual size of the file. If the file is small enough I might be able to swing an ftp to use.

2/ Can you post a still shot/grab of the bottle?

3/ I will also need the file with the credits. How long are the credits? 10 seconds, 30?

-I don't want you to send it then find out there is something wrong and have to send it again.

There may be enough targets on the original label I'm not sure. I can try both I guess. Your right about laying the text onto the original label. That would look better. In fact it also eliminates the chroma keying step. It would still be a texture but with an alpha channel.

Okay, let me ask a friend how much bandwidth he can carry on his ftp and I'll let you know probably tomorrow. He works today and is shooting tonight so it may be another 24 hrs.

The credits. I've got a list of names which should be on that bottle. But the point is this: the names doesn't 'fall down' like a standart creditroll, but they appear one by one. So there's only one name on the label at once, then fadeover (or something) to the next name.
I don't have any experience with the way you work, so what's best to do: Giving you the list with names, or making an AVI with those names in it, so that you 'only' have to put that file into the label?
If the last thing is the best, how big should I make it? Just full size, so that you can downscale it to the label?

The background color should be the color of the label (white paper, as you see on the picture in my next reply). Should I allready use a background like that, or should I make it in a keyable background?

(Sorry, I missed this part.)
It would be better for you to make the credit roll yourself to assure its the style you want. The only thing I request is it's full size as you would normaly see it and that the background is a solid colour that is not in any part of your text. That solid color will become the transparent color.
