first conclusion - it is more 416 then kmr 81
very sharp picup pattern
it does the job as camera mic - short enouth not to be in the frame
less low end - about 70hz roll off
handling noise - about nothing with ktek suspention
does it worth the money - big time 50 us less then rode ntg-1

I think Oleg [1] is competing with Oleg2 for providing the most bargin audio equipment options. ;-) Either way DVXUsers are the true winners.

the current project is to bring maximum for minimum to equal the camera prices ,
as we say if you cant beat them with sankens you can alwais join them with chiniz :-)
eventually we will find the nice setup by the way , the stereo sets will be avalible again in amonth since it was quit a big sucsess the fellows desided
to bring it on regulary bases but not as individuals, 3 caps only sets .
the price would be about the same , maybe 5-10% lower as they bring bigger shipment this time .
also they bring some nice large diafragma ones -about 480 usd for 3 paterns
38 mm capsule , sound very worm , good for studio usege .the cardioid version only about 390 usd .
avalible in stereo pairs as well
the 1 inch version about 420 for 3 pattern and about 200-350 for cardioid depends on the model .
 
The Chinese are gonna' take over the world... I wonder how many people are like the tourists on those beaches... fascinated by how the ocean receeded... excited about all the new shells that have appeared ;-) Japan went through the same evolution... from making some things that were considered junk in the early days... to becoming the leading tech manufacturer in several categories... to the point that "made in Japan" is synonomous with quality. That same day is racing towards us at lightspeed from China... everything they manufacture is getting better all the time... with a virtual slave class to keep the machine running at maximum.

I think there will probably be a day that a cheap Chinese mic WILL beat a Sanken... with equal quality at half the price. They're waking up to a new view of economics... rather then always trying to ONLY gain market share on price and volume.

This is going to be cool for our field of technology... but I'm sure a lot of businesses will eventually be swept away in the tsunami. This is not a criticism... it just is what it is...

So these guys are going to offer a high-end performing shotgun, right? That's the one mic that I would be the most curious about... because up to now there hasn't been a Chinese version that I know of... more on that when you get a chance please.
 
i dont say they are fantastic , but give you good value for your $ .
the shotgun is fur from sanken as i far from America , but for some dv users and starters who put "allot" of their savings in camera and need minimum of decent performers they may be a good answer , the mics are not crap they make decent sound which good for the beginners or people who not really professionals , not that in hand of apro they wouldnt bring more - i did about 400000us $ production value with my set ( that now serve one of the dvx users )
and no one ever gave me any bad input about how the gigs where recorded .
i am going to buy back anew set of these as i think they deserve at least 1 million production day , not to mention , they are easy to waist mics so may be used in stuff i will not put anything else on the line .
about the shotgun - its in the lowest end i can say it may work , news definitely , camera mic of course , low budget stuff , why not .
is it the last you will buy - no , this the first you can learn what you can get and later decide if you want continue with this occupation .
you dont , you sell it for a100 , you continue , it works as camera mic and you buy better for dialog .


i will try to talk with the company which bring these to israel to give some discount to dvx users or something like that .

cant promise as they really even dont know this site is exist and mostly working with musicians and running independent studio .but if there will be enough volume they may consider it , as it good thing for them as well - bigger volume , better prices .
i will talk them next week to see if it possible at all .

ok , i had a chet with the company , they promised me free shipping for dvx users with Israeli packages post services , thats about 20 us$ discount for someone who take a par in a box .
and half of the shipping cost for large diaphragm microphones( these are 2-4 kg boxes )

about arriving the mics to israel they said about a month from now .
