hvx200 short screening at newport beach film fest

I saw your short in the Newport Beach film festival and thought it was great. Your short was included with the other films in the Furiously Funny Shorts title and it looked like your image quality was better than the other films (even better than the film shot with a panavision camera). The skin tones were natural. Unfortunately a digital projector was used and the image quality was limited on all the short films. I bet if you did a film out and projected it with a film projector no one could tell if the film was shot with a digital camera. Good job. I was thinking of getting a red camera but it looks like the hvx200 may be the best bang for the buck and the extra resolution one could get with the red camera may be unnecessary.
 
hey thanks for kind words. yeah i thought the image quality really held up against some of the other shorts. the DP did a fantastic job on a limited budget. next time i'd like to try using the hvx200 with a 35mm adapter. i've seen other people's footage and it's very impressive.

i shot at 24p and so when i converted to 30i digibeta for projection, i think the sync sound was off a bit near the end. something to keep in mind depending on what you want to output to.
