I was told to wait til NAB to see where the 8 gig prices will fall. I know the stores are allready selling it for a little under 700. I'm in the market for one. Do you guys think the prices will level out around 700, or is there another price tag coming in the very near future. Thanks .

Are you serious? 900$ for a 16 gig. Is that confirmed, and how long before they are on the market?

Since the 32GB will cost around 1800$ and the 16GB cost 900$, well I guess the 8Gb should settle around 450$, otherwise why buy them, right?

it seems like my question was never really answered. There seems to be a consensus that the 8 gig cards should be priced at 500 compared to the 16 gig priced at 900. But the current priceing is 700. Does anyone have a clue whether they will go down to 500 and when?

the press statement said the list price will be 600, meaning most dealers may go under that. I am in the market for another card but I have some time to see how things go, so I am waiting to see how low they go on ebay and other dealers before putting in my order.

I agree, they should go below 600 by june, if demand is not extreme.

The current MAP for the 8Gb cards is $700, not $600.00. http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webap...ogId=13051&itemId=94170&surfModel=AJ-P2C008HG

Current best price for the card is $653.00 from Full Compass.

However, nobody has any at any price at all. Full Compass is backordered at least until May 31st. A week ago it was two weeks, but now it is six weeks.

Not certain where you are getting your info on the $600.00 price

The day after you buy it.

If you are going to hold off, for goodness sake, you should be able to AT LEAST make up the $200.00 on ONE job. If not, you probably don't need it.
Not trying to sound sarcastic but,.....yeh I am.
What does your crystal ball tell you?

Can you actually find the cards in stock anywhere right now? Seems like you can't.

B&H supposedly has them in stock - at least that is what their website says now.
Full Compass says to call for availability.

I just had a problem with a 4gb card and sent it to panasonic. They said that it was past its warranty period and that they would need to replace it for a cost to me of $260. So double that price and you have the up and coming cost of 8gb cards. around $500.
