Insurance/Warranty for HVX?

are there any company's that will insure your camera in the event it gets stolen/lost/broken? will homeowners insurance cover this type of thing?

i bought mine from spec-comm and they didnt offer an additional warranty or extended maintenance/warranty.

I have a commercial policy from Allied Insurance. It includes $1,000,000 liability and covers all my gear at replacement value.

Because i use the gear to make money, my homeowners will not cover it. It will also cover the gear if it's lost, stolen, I drop it over the Grand Canyon etc.

Before I had the commercial policy I had some gear scheduled on my homeowners policy.
I think I paid like $.80 per $100 value. But once I talked to my insurance guy to update some equipment he said I needed to go with the commercial policy.

I can't recall right off the top of my head but it was somewhere around $500 or $600 a year.

But I have all my video gear as well as all my still photography gear which adds up to quite a bit.

Thanks for the tip Kevin. I've been using Hanover and it's been costing me $1500 a year for liability. I'm guessing I pay a higher premium because a lot of my work is in NYC, but sounds like it might be worth looking into for a better rate.

I just changed homeowners insurance and asked about coverage on the camera ( don't need liablility right now due to limited work). $5000 in coverage
is around $100 a year, covers for anything that happens. It's through Metlife.
Was originally going to get 10K in coverage for $200 yr to cover my other stuff,
but decided to assume that risk myself. It's the HVX I'm concerned about.
