S C H I T T E K A T T E R a Taylor Bryson Film

Great BTS shots. I'm sorry you couldn't get your dramatic river shot, but I'm sure your new ending will work just as well. Pressure and limitations often end up giving birth to great creative ideas. Looking forward to it. :)

Yeah we had to have those because of the incline to keep things in place. We had to park a half mile away. 35lb sand bags are not fun to carry that far. One day I will have P.A.'s I hope, heh heh.
Holy friggin' CRAP! You ARE committed!

When you cross 40, you'll never carry a sandbag again. Get a wheeled convertible cart, they're like $40 or so at the home improvement stores. Roll those things...

Wow! What a rig! That looks like a lot of gear on that tripod head!

And what a story with HOMELAND SECURITY! Yikes!!!

Great looking BTS here. Makes me so anxious to get out there and start shooting!

I wish that the snow would melt around here. I am NOT going to shoot in the snow! Not in the Spring!

Good luck here. Looking great.

:) Haha, Ok, I have some catching up to do. ...

Sorry I have not been around, but editing this has been challenging and something to obsessive over. My whole short takes place in real time. A single scene. I wanted to do that because I wanted to challenge myself with 4 or 5 minutes of blocking, creating new axis lines and screen pictures with each unit or beat change, etc. There are many more choices cut to cut and many things to "fix in post"

Thanks gals, and yeah I agree on the pressure and limitations. We may still have to re-shoot part of the new ending though for technical reasons. Which will be hard to coordinate since one of the ensemble members is out of town now - the whole reason we scrambled to get an ending after we were kicked off our location with less than two hours of sunlight left and no way to finish the story line we had at the time.

I am still working with it, massaging this shot, we will see...

Are they big wheels? Because we had to go over grass and over , well the levees themselves, which are just a high hill with a jogging path on top.

But yeah I need some kind of cart, though most of my gear is in backpacks now

Yeah my tripod and head is kind of light weight, But I have never needed better and I am a guerilla filmmaker and like to set up and move quickly. Notice the long sliding plate though - balance is key. This shoot is the only time I've come close to wishing I had a heavy duty tripod and head because it was so windy, sometimes the wind shook the camera in an otherwise smooth shot.

Looks like an anti aircraft weapon to me..... Arrest him!
Yeah I thought that myself about the aircraft gun thing. The camera was actually struck and resting in its case when the coast guard came out and stared at us with their machine gun. But I was thinking if they saw that there might have really been freaked as opposed to just seeing the tripod and three of us standing around on break.

Blake's wound gets much worse in the course of the short and he was already in that makeup. Fortunately he had gone off location during the break so we were able to call him and tell him not to come bag so he could avoid being bagged and tagged. But I am glad they were not seeing this guy walking around covered in blood.

thanks folks,

... ok back to editing, a poster and what not coming soon

This looks awesome, can't wait to see it!

I'm in the same "one-scene-situation" bind. Good luck!

Thanks Alex, I've had to getting creative with the editing and take my time.

But GRRRR, I may have to fly the team member that's out of town back to NOLA to reshoot on goldurn shot! !
@^%$@#^%#:badputer:

It is the ending, final shot. It's executed well but since we had o scramble after homeland security shut us down we lost the light and it looks horrible. Maybe it can be fixed in post. I have a friend that can help me fix it I think. We'll see...

Hey thanks Kyle.

I have been so busy I have not been able to update the thread much. So I really appreciate the shout out and the bump

I think I wil be able to save my last shot, BTW, (fingers crossed)

Hey Taylor, just catching up on your thread ... hurry up with the poseter already!

Read a page or so back that your entire short takes place in real time, with one scene ... looking forward to it!

Composers Witkam And Barnhoorn Attached!

Composers Witkam And Barnhoorn Attached!

Man I have got to get some time to pimp - busy bee.

But thankfully I have great news to announce to get my thread back in the mix here.

Could not be more pleased to announce that BOTH ...
Herman Witkam
"Rekindled"
"Bloody Mary"
"Bone Hand" (and countless others - just to name some DVXuser credits)
AND
Siddhartha Barnhoorn
"Buffalo Samson"
"Black Angel"
"Thou Shalt Not" (and countless others - just to name some DVXuser credits)

will be scoring S C H I T T E K A T T E R together!

Wow huh?

I guess you could say they are "going Dutch" ... heh heh .... hello? is this thing on (tapping microphone) ... come on folks they are both from the Netherlands? Going Dutch .... get it ? (mic feeds back) ... (sigh)

Very cool, Taylor! That'll be interesting to see how they share the workload of scoring the film together.

I miss Herman from not being able to follow through with BERLIN at this time. Notice I said at this time ... we'll get 'er done eventually.

K, back to you .... oh, and I love the tapping microphone bit ... funny stuff!

I like it. Bet I'll dig the score, too!

They have worked together before. And I like both of them. So I decided to have my cake and eat it too.
