Duel-Systems Adapter has been officially released

price is ok at $ 119 but then the shipping cost for Canada is $62.00 for a total of $ 181

I hope there will be some resellers soooon.

Just be advised that transfer speeds in Windows XP under Bootcamp are extremely slow with the Duel Adapter. Not sure why, but I think Apple's expresscard drivers for XP might be buggy somehow. Have you tried this?
Under OSX I can offload a 4 Gb card in just over 2 minutes, but on XP it took me almost 10 minutes!

That is a crazy price difference for shipping! I cringed when I saw the shipping price on the Duel Systems site, but bought anyway--> I need the adapter.

119 IS overpriced. Just because it's relative price isn't very much, doesn't mean it isn't too much, period.

I don't grade by the curve.

If 119 was for a device that had been released with no bugs, fine; but go to their site and read all of the exceptions, bugs and limitations. No excuse.

That's just my opinion.

I'd rather spend 400$ on an old pc laptop, copy the data and send it to my beloved mac.

@ 80 bucks plus shipping, I think that would be fair.

This is simply not true. Both show full HD QT footage. And you can go full screen for playback.

The P2 Log is not sold by FocusEnhancements, it's by Image Products. The link above is incorrect.

Man talk about a great month for the HVX and P2. Timing couldn't be better on all this stuff :) 8GB P2 cards drop, 16GB out next month, The adapter is finally ready, man, Makes one genuinely happy to be alive :beer:

Indeed I did! It really is an amazing time to be an HVX owner :) Not to mention that all of this (Despite Hydra, But thats ok, it's coming soon enough!) is here before NAB ;) God bless you Barry Green and Panasonic! All this really just made my whole year :beer:
 
It's been a month, and my order status still says "On Backorder"

Has anyone recieved their adapter yet?

Uhm. When I click "pre-order" and get to choose shipping it says "FedEx International Canada/Mexico Economy: $22 USD".

Sure - it's still a lot under the $62 USD price announced. I guess it depends a lot on how much the company uses FedEx. Big companies can usually get some pretty good deals with shipping companies. I really don't think they're trying to steal from you. Maybe it's just company policy to send everything with insurance.

Yes, I know. When I ordered the DuelAdapter, shipping cost for Canada /Mexico was $22 USD. Still much better than $ 62 USD. It is a very small item at the end. : )
 
I emailed duel systems customer service, to ask when they will start shipping.

I got this response:

In response to your inquiry, we will begin shipping out orders in mid to late April, which is when the product will be released. I apologize for the inconvenience. If you have any further questions, please contact us again.

So hopefully by this month we'll all recieve our orders.
