green screen movie 8 min

Good idea... nice shots....some long ones (I'd reduce some takes)
now about the green screen: you should remove the fields if recorded at 24P (editing in 24P) to apply the effect, if it is 60i, your render mode is wrong, sometimes the fields order is wrong between the the BG and TV image, the borders flickers.
The tracker isn't perfect, probably you know :) but you should reduce the soft mask to avoid showing the original green screen ( I can see it many times).
More than that, you are a hero trying to do that with a DVX100 :)

thanks for the feedback.
i shot it in 60i because i had no idea how to use a dvx, my vx2100 was getting its heads cleaned and i really needed to shoot this for my college protfolio, so i borrowed my friends dvx...

and i had NEVER done green screening before and my after effects sucked so i did the chroma keeying in final cut so thats why its so unrefined...
when i watch it now i am pretty happy with how it came outseeing that i have no instruction what so ever in filming or editing hah

SUZANNE VEGA - "Tom's Diner"

Why did I just sit and watch some dude ride his bike around town for FAR too long??

Don't know?

me neither.

No cuts for different actions? Just one long continuous take after long continuous take. Good job on the green screen, but to be honest, it's a bore to watch... I wouldn't send this to the college until you re-edit using closer shots if you have them or jump cutting a lot of stuff. I have feeling you can cut out the beginning, and pick up the pace.

its funny you say that, i sent it to three colleges, and showed two of them it in person and they had only positive thigns to say about it.

Ive never taken any sort of instruction in film editing or anything, i learned everythign i know 100% on my own.

I got into all the schools i applied to to, and this was the main piece of my portfolio haha

School of the Museam of Fine art, Art Institue of Boston and Mass art. Im going to SMFA
