Need to Rent Matrox MXO in NYC

I just need it for one day...called about 20 production rental places in New York.

Nobody has this and 90% haven't even heard of it.

Does anyone in NY have a Matrox MXO and would like to rent for one day? or can you recommend a production house you know has and rents this?

We have to review footage from a MacBook Pro on a (HD Component) Projector...need to convert the DVI signal going out from the laptop.

Just about every projector will take a DVI input. If it has HD component inputs odds are it will take a DVI or HDMI. Really don't see why you need the MXO.

Thanks for responding Jarek. It just didn't seem from what i read that you would get the HD quality video passed through the DVI...that the video out of FCP needs the matrox to play the footage best quality. Here's some of my research:

I am not really a tech person, so excuse me if I am incorrect. I just though the DVI permitted an additional monitor for the desktop (a second display). I have a DVI to VGA converter for a second 20" monitor hooked up to the MacBook Pro, works fine for additional workspace but...when I am editing...stretched the FCP Viewer to the full size of the second monitor and the footage looked like ****! Well not sh*t...but not as good as I know it should look.

The Matrox is used to send broadcast quality video to an HD CRT or ACD...some people use it for color correction etc. I thought it would be the best option to send the best representation of the actual video to a component in HD projector??

The viewing is for us to go through rough footage and have the collective of creatve people involved in the film get to kinda pick through takes.

Please advise. Thank You.

As a user, tester and reviewer of the MXO, I can tell you that there is a difference between using the MXO and just taking DVI output.

Pity you're not in DFW since I could rent you mine. Actually, more of a pity that I'm not in NYC area (but trying to remedy that problem).

thanks Ned.

Anyone? New York?
Even if there is anyone selling it used? I could see paying less for it to have and use sometimes, but not $1000(new) when i don't plan on using it much.

WHERE TO RENT? PLEASE

It's something I'll probably be acquiring this year, but I suppose it might be expedited for the sake of some near term rental income. What might you be thinking of paying per day, and for how many days?

I'm in Manhattan.
