so when can we see some footie. I definitely think that your footage has lead me more to the SGpro over the Brevis.. but it's close. The M2 is no longer in the running.. especially after a friend returned his because it was a nightmare to tweek and lost a whole stop of light.. The HVX is light hungry anyway to have to loose that much..

So overall how have you liked the adapter? Big learning curve? What type of still lens do you recommend?

Great looking stuff. I like the slight desaturation. I know this isn't your final CC, but it looks good enough to be.

Could you maybe run through one of your light setups for one of the grabs. Thanks,

Jeremy

I can't live without the sgpro... :) You set it up once, nothing to worry after.

AS for the lenses, it's the most important part. The best adapter in the world will produce bad results with a bad lense. Always primes and as speed as you can. As for the sharpness, it's always better to use an f1.4 lense closed to f2.8 or f4 than an f4.0 fully open.

middle or late may is the deadline for the short. late may i will upload a trailer here.

thanks a lot,
theodoros

The Sg loses about a 1 stop, brevis about 1 stop. the M2 about 1.75 stops.

Using the adapters, any adapter, and an HVX means beefing up your light kit. a 500W and 2 300Watters arent going to cut it anymore. once you diffuse them, suddenly you need a nearly 1-2K Key light. ITs a big step that everyone should be aware of.

Hello people,

i have some stills of my upcoming short film to share with you.
90% of the scenes and montage have already done. As for the cc, it is not the final.
It is something near the final results.
Final colour correction will take place in a post production company that will transfer the short to film in may.

As for the setup, we have used an hvx200e with sgpro r.2 plus some nikon and zeiss lenses.

The horizon tilt in these two shots of the office looks a bit off, is it for a head spin effect? Is the guy in the white shirt kind of going for a head-spin with the money that's in front of him in the breifcase?

All the photography well lit. Excellent, Cannot wait to see the whole picture after you've finished the festival circuits. I'm guessing this is why you're doing the film-out.

Nice looking stuff! What process are you using to get to 2.35? Are you simply cropping, or some other method?

Great stills. The lighting is nice and has a natural look. The limited depth of field really helps focus our attention on the actors. I can't wait to see some moving clips. I also like the color correction. You are going for a dramatic low chroma, low blacks reality feel, right? Nice work. Was it easy staying in focus? Did the actors need to hit their marks perfectly? Did you follow focus (if so what did you use gear wise)? How did you monitor the video to check focus (sorry if you already answered these questions and I missed it)?

The only bad thing I have to say is: Smoking is not healthy (although it does look cool on camera)!!!

Many thanks to all for your kind words.

You have to wait to see about this ;)
Yes, we will sent the short to some festivals.

Just crop.

We have used a redrock ff and it has worked very good. Some shots were little complicated as for the focus, some easier. I've had a production monitor to control the scenes(i can't remember model, but it was bad...) and a little 7" lcd to focus while shooting.

Thanks a lot for seeing!
